Hotel Fitness Packages for Small Spaces

In hospitality, a fitness room does not have to be large to be profitable and appreciated. With the right mix of cardio, strength and accessories, an intelligent layout and a suitable floor, a hotel can deliver a club-grade experience from 8 m² upwards. What guests judge is coherence, not square metres: a small, well-composed room scores better in reviews than a large, mismatched one.

Light In Fitness equips professionals, clubs, coaches, hotels and local authorities, with equipment designed for intensive use, and supports the project from selection through logistics and after-sales.

What changes in hospitality compared with a conventional gym

  • Turnover and mixed profiles. Beginners, travellers in a hurry, regular athletes: the room has to be simple and effective for all of them.
  • Few square metres. Every machine has to serve several uses, which means versatility and fast adjustment.
  • Comfort and disturbance. Noise and vibration have to be controlled, through impact-absorbing floors and stable machines.
  • Maintenance. Robust equipment, plus access to parts and after-sales support.
  • Image and experience. Design, cleanliness, signage and a clear training path.

The hospitality method: five pillars for a small footprint

1. Zoning: cardio, strength, mobility

  • Cardio along the walls, or facing a view
  • Strength in the centre, with a bench plus dumbbells and kettlebells
  • Mobility in the quiet corner, with mats, stretching space and resistance bands

2. Versatility: multi-exercise stations

Give priority to an adjustable bench, dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, and a cable or pulley station where the room allows it. Our professional fitness accessories cover the small-item side of the specification, which is where a compact room is usually won or lost.

3. Quiet and comfort: the floor

An impact-absorbing floor reduces vibration and protects the structure, which matters above all on an upper storey. Specify the thickness against the load and the storey rather than against the room area. Our rubber gym flooring tiles cover the thicknesses used for the strength zone.

4. User experience: simple and guided

Add minimal signage: a 20-minute session, a 30-minute full body, a 10-minute mobility routine. Guests who arrive late and leave early need a route through the room, not a catalogue of options.

5. Services: layout, delivery, after-sales

Our approach is to qualify the project, recommend the equipment and draw the layout, then handle logistics and after-sales. In a hotel, access constraints usually shape the equipment list as much as the floor area does.

Example packages for hotels with limited space

Essential package, 8 to 12 m²

  • Cardio: one versatile machine, an exercise bike or a cross trainer
  • Strength: one adjustable bench plus a dumbbell set
  • Accessories: mats, resistance bands, light kettlebells
  • Floor: impact-absorbing tiles over the strength zone

Comfort package, 12 to 20 m²

  • Cardio: two machines, for example a treadmill plus a bike or cross trainer
  • Strength: bench, dumbbells, kettlebells and a compact cable station where possible
  • Mobility: a stretching corner with mats, a roller and resistance bands
  • Floor: reinforced protection over the loaded zone

Compact premium package, 20 to 35 m²

  • Cardio: three to four stations, from treadmill, cross trainer, rowing machine and stepper
  • Strength: dumbbell zone, benches, and guided load as an option
  • Storage: order is what creates the premium perception
  • Floor: clear zoning between cardio, strength and mobility

Quick checklist before you buy

  • Real surface and circulation: how many guests can train at once?
  • Guest profile: business, leisure, long stay, spa?
  • Acoustic comfort: storey, neighbouring rooms, need for thicker tiles?
  • Hygiene: easy-clean materials, storage, dedicated mats
  • After-sales and parts: availability, warranties, maintenance

A hotel gym sits inside a wider wellness offer, and the equipment decisions are easier once the spa and pool side is settled: see our hotel wellness and spa equipment for that part of the project.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum area for a credible hotel gym?

From 8 to 12 m² it is already possible, provided the choice is intelligent: one versatile cardio station, a compact strength corner with a bench and dumbbells, accessories, and a suitable impact-absorbing floor.

In a small space, what comes first, cardio or strength?

The best compromise is a mix: at least one cardio machine plus a strength corner with a bench, dumbbells and resistance bands. That covers most hotel guest profiles.

How do you reduce noise and vibration on an upper floor?

The first lever is the floor: impact-absorbing tiles over the strength zone, stable equipment, and limited impact loading. Layout and zoning also help reduce disturbance.

Are connected machines necessary in a hotel?

No, they are not essential. The priority stays simplicity of use, reliability, maintenance and a clear layout. Connectivity is a bonus depending on the clientele and the positioning.

What services should be planned beyond the purchase?

Layout, covering circulation and safety, logistics, covering access and delivery, and after-sales, covering warranties, parts and maintenance. Those three secure the quality of the guest experience and the working life of the equipment.

A tailored hotel proposal

Give us four pieces of information, the surface, the intended use, the objectives and the budget, and we will send back a structured recommendation covering equipment, options, layout and logistics. Difficult access, an upper storey or noise-sensitive neighbours are constraints we design around rather than reasons to reduce the offer: request a quote.
