Description
The Waterflex Aquafitmat is an inflatable floating mat for pool based classes, moored between two lane lines and used to train balance and proprioception on an unstable surface. It inflates like a paddle board and is rigid enough to support a standing user, which is what turns an ordinary pool into a venue for a new class without any building work.
The construction is drop stitch with a double skin: thousands of polyester fibres hold the two faces at a constant distance, reinforced by a PVC layer. The result is extreme rigidity and a mat that supports heavier users without folding, which is the usual failure of a simple inflatable.
The top surface is EVA, soft underfoot and non slip, printed with circular reference zones. The markings are pedagogical rather than decorative: the instructor places feet and hands on identified zones, and the central logo marks the balance zone used for the base position. Numerous rings allow the mats to be attached to each other in several configurations, and aquatic elastic bands can be clipped to the sides as an option.

Adding a class without adding a pool
Public pools and hotel pools are judged on the number of activities they can run in a given water surface. A floating mat class needs no fixed installation, no minimum depth and no particular pool shape, so it can be programmed in the same lane used for lessons an hour earlier.
The mats are stored deflated, which matters when the plant room is the only available storage. Training is part of the supplied concept, since the value of the class comes from the instructor knowing how to use the balance and imbalance principle rather than from the mat itself.
Frequently asked questions
What water depth is required?
None in particular. The mat floats and is moored between lane lines, so it works in pools of any depth and shape.
How are the mats secured?
With the mooring kit, attached between two lane lines. The rings also allow several mats to be linked in different configurations.
Is instructor training included?
The concept is supplied as mat, mooring kit and training, which is how a pool starts the activity rather than buying equipment alone.
