Description
The Aquabike WR MAX is a professional aqua bike with hydraulic resistance and Aqua Double Speed pedals, designed for gentle reconditioning, physical rehabilitation and group classes. Its anodised aluminium frame is 40 per cent lighter than stainless steel and resists corrosion through the anodising process combined with a fitted sacrificial anode. Adaptive ergonomics and multiple adjustments let it suit different body types and different pool depths. The price is 745 EUR excluding VAT.

Handling, pool logistics and programming
Weight is the specification that decides whether aqua bikes actually get used. A bike has to be lifted into and out of the water for cleaning, pool maintenance and storage, often by one member of staff at the end of a session. An anodised aluminium frame that is 40 per cent lighter than stainless steel makes that a one person operation rather than a two person one, and the integrated wheels handle the poolside part of the journey. Over a season that difference decides whether the class runs at full capacity or whether bikes stay in the store room.
Corrosion is the second constraint specific to this equipment. Chlorinated or salt treated water attacks metal continuously, and here it is addressed on two fronts: anodising to harden the aluminium surface and a sacrificial anode that corrodes in place of the frame. The anode is a consumable and should be inspected as part of the seasonal maintenance routine, alongside rinsing the bikes with fresh water after use.
On the programming side, hydraulic resistance is progressive and adjustable, so the same bike serves a rehabilitation client working at very low intensity and a group class member pushing a cardio interval. The Aqua Double Speed pedals raise the intensity available in a cardio session, and non slip pedal surfaces keep grip when the user is wet and barefoot. Adjustable seat height and multiple settings cover mixed group classes, and the bike is designed to be comfortable barefoot, which is how it will always be used.
Frequently asked questions
Why train on a bike in water?
Water removes the joint impact of land based cycling while adding resistance in every direction, which is why aqua biking is used for gentle reconditioning, rehabilitation and low impact cardio classes.
What is the sacrificial anode for?
It is a component that corrodes preferentially so the frame does not. It should be checked and replaced as part of routine maintenance, particularly in heavily treated water.
Does the bike suit every pool?
Adaptive ergonomics and multiple adjustments allow it to be used across different body types and pool configurations. Send us your pool depth and class size and we will confirm the fit with the quotation.
