Description
The Shock Incline Chest Press is the machine that fills out the upper chest — the area a flat press alone never quite reaches. This seated, plate-loaded incline press directs the load to the clavicular fibres of the pectoralis major, the fibres that give a chest its full, squared upper line, while the guided path keeps shoulders in a safe pressing groove at every load.
n
Why the incline angle matters
n
The pectoralis major is a broad, triangular, three-bundle muscle; together with the pectoralis minor beneath it, it stabilises and depresses the shoulder and drives adduction, flexion and internal rotation of the arm. Because its upper fibres run from the collarbone, they respond to pressing at an incline — not flat. Bodybuilders have always prioritised the chest as the most visible upper-body muscle; the incline press is how the top half of it gets built.

Frequently asked questions
n
Flat or incline — which press first?
n
Most programmes use both: the flat Shock chest press for overall mass, the incline for the upper fibres. On a commercial floor the two stations work as a pair.
n
Is it beginner-friendly?
n
Yes — the seated position and guided arc remove the balance demands of an incline barbell bench, so members can learn the pattern with light plates and progress safely.
n
What upholstery and finish does it use?
n
The same commercial specification as the rest of the range: high-density padding with hygienic covering and powder-coated steelwork, detailed in the Shock strength range overview.
