Description
The Runner kids outdoor air walker is a children’s fitness station supplied and installed throughout France by Light In Fitness. It reproduces an airborne walking stride: the legs rest on two suspended footplates and swing freely in opposition, with no ground impact at any point.
Gentle cardio that respects growing joints
Running on hard playground surfaces loads young joints with every stride. The Runner removes the impact entirely: the pendulum movement keeps both feet on the plates while hips, hamstrings and quadriceps drive the swing, so joints and growth cartilage are spared. Amplitude is free – each child sets their own stride length – and the movement is understood at first try, with no technical instruction needed.
What the child works
- Hip flexors
- Hamstrings and quadriceps
- Abdominal wall
- Cross-body arm-leg coordination
Why choose this model
- Impact-free pendulum movement: joints and growth cartilage preserved
- Free amplitude – the child sets their own stride length
- Immediate handling, no technical instruction required

Two compliance versions: EN 16630 or EN 1176
The Runner is available in an EN 16630 version (free-access outdoor fitness equipment, for users of at least 1.40 m) and an EN 1176 version (playground equipment standard, with EN 1177 surfacing where free fall height requires it). The right version follows the administrative status of your space and is confirmed before quotation.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Runner used for on a children’s course?
Warm-up and gentle cardio activation – its stated roles. The rhythmic stride raises heart rate softly and teaches tempo, which is why instructors place it at the start of a session.
How does it differ from the Rocket and Tree Runner versions?
The mechanics are identical. This classic Runner keeps an open frame in your chosen RAL colour, while the Rocket and Tree versions add solid decorative cut-out panels for themed playgrounds.
Is there a two-station version?
Yes – the Runner also exists as a two-station unit on a shared chassis, for schools and leisure centres that need faster group rotation.
