Handles that move, exercises that multiply
A fixed grip trains one thing. Movable handles turn the same frame into a variable obstacle: the handle shifts under load, so the user has to control the swing as well as hold the grip. That recruits the trunk and the shoulder stabilisers on top of the forearm and back work a static bar produces, and it is what makes the module a ninja obstacle rather than a pull-up station.

Planning the safety zone
The module itself occupies 3.38 x 1.5 m, but the EN 16630 safety zone is 5.5 x 7.38 m. That ratio is characteristic of dynamic obstacles: the clearance is set by where a user can fall from a swinging handle, not by the frame. Reserve the full zone at design stage; retro-fitting clearance around an installed module usually means moving something else.
Where it is installed
- Public urban fitness areas and street workout parks
- Sports centres adding a ninja or obstacle line
- Leisure operators building a timed course
- Schools and campuses running functional training sessions
The structure suits users from 140 cm upwards and works for beginners and experienced athletes on the same obstacle, since difficulty scales with how fast it is attempted. Colour and configuration can be adjusted to the project.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work as a standalone module?
It can, but ninja obstacles deliver more as a sequence. Two to four modules in line create a course with a timing element, which is what generates repeat use in a public installation.
What surfacing is required?
An impact-attenuating surface sized to the free height of fall across the full safety zone. Rubber tiles are the usual answer for a permanent urban installation; we size the thickness during the siting study.
What does the 20-year warranty cover?
The steel structure. Wearing components such as grips and fixings are covered under separate terms; full conditions are supplied with the quotation.
