Description
The Ellipse Converging Triceps is an Olympic plate-loaded arm machine with a low 97.5 cm profile and a converging movement path. It measures 155.8 x 133.8 x 97.5 cm and weighs 140 kg. Light In Fitness supplies it at 1,650 EUR excluding VAT.
A low-profile machine that does not block the room
At 97.5 cm high this is one of the lowest machines on a strength floor. That is worth more than it sounds: sightlines across a gym affect how supervised the room feels, how easily staff can see what is happening, and how large the space appears to a prospective member on a tour. Arm machines are usually placed in the middle of a floor, where a tall frame does the most damage to those sightlines.
- Converging path following the natural arc of elbow extension
- Olympic plate loading on an integrated disc support
- Padded arm and elbow support fixing the upper arm position
- Quick spring seat height adjustment
Why converge the arms
The hands travel inwards as the elbow extends, which is what the arm does naturally when it is not constrained by a straight bar. Holding that arc keeps the resistance aligned with the triceps through the whole range instead of dropping away at lockout, and it removes the wrist strain that a fixed straight bar produces at the end of the movement.
Ellipse build standard
Pulleys are high-strength nylon, 105 x 20 mm, on sealed 6202RS bearings. The finish is a two-pass powder coating with a clear top coat, and both frame and arm colours are specified at order. Upholstery is polyurethane foam under synthetic leather; contact surfaces are aluminium and adjustments are marked in yellow.

Frequently asked questions
Does it replace a cable pushdown station?
For triceps work, yes, and it does it better: the upper arm is fixed by the pad, so the load cannot be shifted onto the shoulders and the trunk. A cable column remains useful for the rest of its repertoire, but if the objective is triceps volume, the dedicated machine wins.
Which machine should be installed next to it?
The matching biceps machine from the same range. Arm stations are used in pairs by almost every member who uses them at all, and placing them together halves the walking between sets, which matters at peak hours.
What load should be planned?
Triceps extension loads are modest compared with pressing movements, so a plate set concentrated on small denominations, 5 kg, 10 kg and 15 kg, is more useful here than heavy discs. We size the plate order to the machine group rather than machine by machine.
