Description
The Bodytone Spine Corrector is a compact Pilates barrel whose curve follows the natural curvature of the spine, used for postural correction, spinal mobility and deep core work. The shape is the apparatus: it supports the trunk in extension and in lateral flexion so that a movement can be taken to the end of range under control rather than by force.
It is specified by Pilates studios, by physiotherapists and by experienced practitioners who want to improve joint mobility, correct postural imbalance and strengthen the deep musculature of the back, the shoulders, the abdominal girdle and the legs. At 11.5 kg it is light enough to be moved between rooms and to be stored against a wall between classes, which is why it works in a studio, in a practice and at home.
The Spine Corrector belongs to the apparatus repertoire designed by Joseph Pilates, and the exercises performed on it are part of the classical method rather than a modern addition.

Where a spine corrector fits in a studio
A studio equipped with reformers still needs floor apparatus. The spine corrector covers the extension and mobility work that a reformer carriage cannot reproduce, and it is used both in individual sessions and in small group classes where each participant has their own barrel.
For a physiotherapy practice, the argument is different: the barrel provides a passive support that holds a patient in a position they cannot hold themselves, which allows mobility work with a controlled load. In both cases the compact format and the 11.5 kg weight decide where it can be stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is any assembly required?
The apparatus is supplied ready for use. Its 11.5 kg weight allows one person to position and move it.
Is it suitable for beginners?
It is used across levels, under instruction. Progression is managed by the exercise selected rather than by any adjustment on the apparatus.
Can several units be quoted for a studio?
Yes. Barrels, reformers and studio accessories are quoted together for an equipment project, with a reply within 24 working hours.
