Rehabilitation work requires very fine increments, stacks starting at a few kilograms, and programmable resistance systems, coordinated with the sports physician and the physiotherapists. Procurement routes
Public institutions buy through the usual public procurement routes: purchasing bodies for standard ranges, and open or restricted procedures for structural projects. Specifications need to be tighter than for a commercial gym, and this is where most files go wrong.
How to write the level of requirement into a specification: do not write class I plus, because that class does not exist. ISO 20957-1:2024 defines only H, S and I, plus accuracy classes A, B and C. Elite and competition are manufacturer trade names and carry no weight in bid analysis. What works is verifiable requirements: class I under the standard, maximum admissible load per station, section and grade of structural steel, measured usable range of motion, documented compatibility with the staff measurement tools, warranty duration, and a written commitment on spare parts availability. Those can all be checked on documents.
Academies and professional clubs buy privately and negotiate directly. They often hold a framework arrangement with one manufacturer for the core of the floor, but stay open to consultation for complementary equipment, zone extensions and partial renewal. On this segment the differentiator is not the catalogue but the ability to intervene quickly, deliver to a high stakes site and keep the operation confidential.
Military structures use hybrid routes, between central purchasing and direct contracts. Documentary traceability and robustness requirements are the highest of any vertical, because use is unsupervised, populations are heterogeneous and opening hours are long.

Should measurement instrumentation be bought with the equipment?
Buy the equipment first and specify compatibility, then buy instrumentation on its own cycle. Sensors and software are replaced far more often than racks, and tying them into a single contract usually locks the centre into an ecosystem it later wants to leave.
What flooring does a lifting area need?
A 40 mm dense rubber tile as a minimum in the drop zone, with timber lifting platforms where bars are dropped repeatedly from overhead. Thinner tiles indent under rack feet and open at the joints within a season at this level of use.
How long should this equipment last?
