Bodytone builds cardio and strength equipment for facilities that run all day: commercial gyms, hotel and resort fitness rooms, sports clubs, municipal centres, corporate wellness rooms and rehabilitation units. Light In Fitness is an official Bodytone supplier in France and operates as a direct channel, which means negotiated commercial terms and a single point of contact for specification, delivery and installation. This guide sets out what the Bodytone cardio and strength ranges cover, and how to size a fit-out around them.

Bodytone cardio machines for commercial facilities

Cardio equipment carries the heaviest continuous load on any fitness floor. In a busy club a treadmill belt can run eight to twelve hours a day, a duty cycle that has nothing in common with equipment sold for private use. Professional indoor machines are designed for class S use under EN ISO 20957-1, the studio class, and that is the only category worth specifying for a facility open to the public.

The Bodytone cardio range is organised around three families that between them absorb most member demand. The balance you strike between those families is the first real decision of a fit-out, and it depends far more on who walks through your door than on any equipment specification.

Treadmills

The treadmill is still the most used machine in almost every facility, and usually the largest single line on a cardio budget. Bodytone treadmills pair a commercial-duty motor with a set of pre-programmed training profiles, so a member walking a gentle reconditioning programme and a trained runner doing intervals can share the same machine without either being under-served. For an operator, the questions that matter are running surface, deck cushioning, console legibility and how quickly a belt or a motor can be serviced. The full professional selection is set out in our professional treadmills category.

Exercise bikes

Upright and recumbent bikes are the low-impact backbone of a cardio floor. They suit deconditioned members, older users, people returning from knee or hip injury, and anyone who needs training volume without joint loading. That makes them essential in hotel gyms, municipal centres and rehabilitation rooms, where the average user profile is very different from that of a performance club. Bodytone bikes offer adjustable resistance and a range of training programmes; recumbent models add back support and a step-through frame that make them accessible to users who cannot mount an upright bike comfortably.

Cross trainers

Cross trainers combine movement patterns borrowed from running, cycling and cross-country skiing while keeping impact on the joints to a minimum. They recruit the legs, the glutes and the upper body in a single motion, which is why they deliver so much in a small footprint, and they are often the machine that resolves the problem of a mixed-ability membership on a limited floor area. The Bodytone EVOE1+ professional cross trainer is a representative example of the commercial specification: heavy flywheel, wide stride, console designed to survive constant public use.

Bodytone strength training equipment

Alongside cardio, Bodytone produces a full strength range intended to cover every major muscle group with equipment that can be supervised safely in a shared space. For a facility manager, a strength area is not a collection of machines but a circuit: the order in which stations are placed determines how many members can train at once and how much staff supervision each one needs.

Benches and free weights

The adjustable bench is the most versatile item in the range. Seat and back positions adjust to support bench pressing, seated shoulder work, incline and decline variations, and dozens of dumbbell movements. Combined with racks, barbells and dumbbells, it forms the free-weight zone that most experienced members expect to find. Free weights also carry the lowest cost per training station, which matters when floor budget is tight.

Cable and selectorised machines

Cable machines target specific muscle groups with a level of control that free weights cannot match, which is exactly why they work in facilities open to the general public. A member with no coaching can use a selectorised station safely on their first visit, where the same person on a barbell would need supervision. Adjustable resistance and interchangeable handles let one frame serve arms, shoulders, back, chest and core. The complete range is presented in our professional strength training machines category.

Rowing machines

The rower sits between the two worlds. It is a cardiovascular machine by duty cycle, but the movement loads legs, back, arms and trunk hard enough that many operators count it as part of their strength offer. Adjustable resistance and multiple programme levels make it suitable for conditioning circuits, for cross-training boxes and for facilities that need one machine to do several jobs.

Building a floor that balances cardio and strength

Cardio and strength are complementary, and the facilities that retain members longest are usually those where neither zone dominates. Cardio work develops the heart and lungs and sustains energy expenditure; strength work builds and maintains muscle mass, which in turn supports joint health and long-term autonomy. A member who only ever uses one of the two will plateau, get bored, and eventually stop coming.

In practice the split depends on your audience. A hotel fitness room with limited space is usually better served by three or four cardio machines and one multi-station strength unit. A cross-training box needs rowers, rigs and free weights far more than it needs a bank of treadmills. A municipal centre serving a broad public needs low-impact cardio, accessible strength stations and enough circulation space for supervised group use. A rehabilitation unit needs precise resistance control and step-through access above everything else.

Bodytone also supplies fitness accessories such as mats, stability balls and resistance bands, which cost very little and considerably widen what a small floor can offer. They are the cheapest way to add stretching, mobility and stabiliser work to a facility that has no room left for another machine.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bodytone equipment suitable for a facility open to the public?

Yes. The ranges described here are professional equipment intended for continuous commercial use, which is a different specification from equipment sold for private use at home. For any indoor machine in a facility open to the public, the class S category under EN ISO 20957-1 is the relevant reference.

How much space should I allow per machine?

Space requirements depend on the exact model and on the circulation you need around each station, so they should be taken from the technical sheet of the machine you are specifying rather than from a general rule. Our team works from your floor plan and returns a layout with the actual footprints before you commit to a configuration.

Should I start with cardio or with strength?

Neither answer is universal. If your members are mostly beginners, older users or people in reconditioning, the cardio floor is what they will use first and it should come first. If you are equipping a performance club or a cross-training box, the strength and free-weight zone is the priority and the cardio equipment supports it.

Can I mix Bodytone with other brands?

Yes. Light In Fitness distributes several professional ranges and regularly builds mixed configurations where one brand is stronger on a specific station type. The single quotation covers the whole project regardless of how many ranges it draws on.

Requesting a quotation

Every fit-out starts from three pieces of information: the surface available, the profile of the people who will use it, and the budget envelope. With those, our team can propose a Bodytone configuration, position each machine on your floor plan, and set out the equipment, delivery and installation in a single quotation. Send your project through the quotation request page or by email to contact@lightinfitness.com, and we will come back with a specified configuration rather than a price list.
