Bodytone Evoe2 Professional Cross Trainer: Specification and Uses
The cross trainer is the machine a cardio zone is judged on. It runs for hours a day, it is used by members of very different sizes and fitness levels, and it is the first thing a prospective member steps onto during a tour. The Bodytone Evoe2 professional cross trainer is built for that duty cycle: a commercial-grade elliptical designed for continuous use in clubs, hotels and corporate facilities.
This guide sets out what the Evoe2 does, who it suits and how it fits into a professional cardio line-up.
A machine specified for commercial duty
The Evoe2 is a professional machine, built to EN ISO 20957-1 class S, the class that covers equipment intended for supervised commercial use. That is the distinction that matters when you are equipping a floor rather than a spare room: frame gauge, bearing quality and drive components are specified for continuous operation, not for a few hours a week.
Whether you are running a busy independent gym, a hotel fitness room or a strength and conditioning centre, the Evoe2 is designed to hold up under the traffic and to keep its feel over the life of the contract.
Key specifications
- Electromagnetic resistance, 20 levels, for precise, repeatable load setting across a wide range of member abilities.
- 20 kg flywheel, for a smooth, quiet stride even at high intensity.
- 53 cm stride length, long enough for a natural gait and full-range work rather than a clipped, choppy motion.
- Multi-position handlebars, so the machine can be used for upper-body engagement or held static for a lower-body session.
- Console with performance tracking: speed, time, distance, calories and heart rate.
- Built-in training programmes, for structured, motivating sessions without staff input.
- Bluetooth connectivity, so session data can be synchronised with a phone or tablet.
- Reinforced steel frame, specified for intensive use.
- User comfort: non-slip pedals and wide footplates.
What the Evoe2 is used for
On a commercial floor, an elliptical of this specification typically covers four jobs:
- General conditioning: endurance work, cardiovascular training and muscular endurance in one movement pattern.
- Low-impact volume: the elliptical stride removes ground impact, which makes it the default choice for members who cannot tolerate running volume, for older users and for return-to-activity work.
- Body composition programmes: sustained calorie expenditure at a controllable intensity, easy to prescribe and easy to repeat.
- Off-season and cross-training: athletes maintaining aerobic base without adding impact load.
Because the stride is long and the resistance is electromagnetic rather than friction-based, the machine holds a set load accurately from session to session. That repeatability is what makes it usable for programming, not just for free-form cardio.
Where it sits in the range
The Evoe2 sits in the middle of the Bodytone elliptical line. Above it, machines such as the Evoe1+ add a touchscreen console and a heavier frame specification for premium club environments. Below and alongside it sit lighter configurations for smaller rooms.
If you are comparing the full range side by side, the professional cross trainers category lists the current configurations, and the wider professional cardio machines section covers treadmills, bikes and rowers for the rest of the zone.
Price
The Bodytone Evoe2 professional cross trainer is listed at 5,564.00 EUR excluding VAT. Quantity, configuration and installation affect the final figure, so a project quote is the reliable number for a multi-unit fit-out.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Evoe2 suitable for a commercial gym?
Yes. It is a professional machine built to EN ISO 20957-1 class S, the class intended for supervised commercial use, with a reinforced steel frame specified for intensive duty.
Why does stride length matter?
Stride length determines how natural the movement feels and how much of the leg’s range is used. At 53 cm, the Evoe2 allows a full, comfortable gait for a wide range of user heights, which reduces the number of members who find the machine awkward and abandon it.
What does electromagnetic resistance change in practice?
Electromagnetic resistance is contact-free, so there is no pad to wear, no drift in the load setting and no maintenance consumable. Level 12 today is level 12 in six months, which is what makes structured programming possible.
How many units does a cardio zone need?
That depends on your floor area, your peak occupancy and the mix of machines you want. It is a layout question rather than a catalogue question, and it is worth resolving on a plan before ordering.
Specifying the Evoe2 for your site
A cross trainer is a long-term line item: it is on the floor every day, it carries a large share of your cardio traffic, and replacing it early is expensive. Specifying a machine built for commercial duty from the outset is what keeps that cost predictable.
If you are planning or refitting a cardio zone, our team can size the mix of machines against your floor plan and your member profile. Request a quote and we will come back with a configuration and a price for the whole zone.
