Light In Fitness manufactures and installs professional MMA cages, boxing rings and combat sports equipment for gyms, fight clubs, training centres and event organisers. The company was founded in 2013 and has kept the same starting point ever since: a genuine passion for combat sports, and structures built by people who train in them.
From our own training floor to competition venues
The story began with a single cage built for our own use, so that mixed martial arts training could happen in a proper arena rather than an improvised corner of a room. It did not take long for other people to notice the work. Since then our structures have been used well beyond gyms: fight galas, sports clubs, restaurants and television sets have all been equipped with cages built in our workshops. That range of applications says a great deal about how adaptable a cage becomes when it is designed rather than simply assembled from parts.
What sets a Light In Fight cage apart
Two things matter at the same time, and they are rarely given equal weight. The first is visual impact: a cage is the centrepiece of a training floor and, at an event, the object every camera points at. The second, and by far the more important, is safety. Our Light In Fight brand was developed to carry both, with a design identity of its own and a structure built for continuous professional use.
Several people on our team train in combat sports themselves, so nothing about the way a cage is actually used is theoretical here. Every structure that leaves our workshop is supplied with a declaration of conformity and with full assembly and dismantling instructions. That documentation matters as much for your insurer and your safety inspection as it does for the club that has to move a cage between two venues in a weekend.
Floor-level cages and podium cages
Two families cover most professional requirements. A floor-level cage sits directly on the training surface and is the usual choice for clubs and daily training, because fighters step straight in from the mat and the room stays open. A podium cage is raised, which changes the sightlines for spectators and for cameras, and it is normally specified for competition and broadcast. Both ranges are available as standard builds: see our floor-level MMA cages and our podium MMA cages.
Custom cages built to your room
Beyond the standard ranges we build to order. Bespoke cages, with or without a podium, are a routine part of our work: diameter, panel layout, gate position, padding and branding are specified project by project. If your ceiling height, your floor plan or your event format does not fit a catalogue product, a custom build is usually cheaper than compromising on either safety or usable training space.
The floor around the cage
A cage is only one part of a combat sports room. The surrounding surface absorbs the warm-ups, the grappling work and the dropped equipment, and it is far easier to specify at the same time as the structure than to retrofit later. Our tatami mats are designed for that role in professional dojos and fight clubs.
Frequently asked questions
Do your cages come with conformity documents?
Yes. Every cage leaves the workshop with a declaration of conformity and with assembly and dismantling instructions.
Can a cage be dismantled and moved?
Yes. Our structures are designed to be assembled and dismantled following the supplied instructions, which is what allows the same cage to serve a club during the week and an event at the weekend.
Can we have a cage in our own colours and branding?
Yes. Padding colours, panel finishes and branding are part of the specification on a custom build, and this is one of the most common requests we receive from clubs and promoters.
Do you supply boxing rings as well as cages?
Yes. Rings and cages are both part of our combat sports range, and many venues order the two together with the surrounding flooring.
