Description
This stainless steel bench press is an outdoor plate loaded station for chest, shoulder and triceps work with Olympic discs. It gives an open air strength area the horizontal pressing station that a pull up rig cannot provide, and it is specified for outdoor strength parks, public sports areas and high specification private installations.
Outdoors, a bench press has to solve two problems that never arise indoors: the bar has to be caught safely without a spotter, and the whole assembly has to survive permanent exposure. The station addresses the first with a fixed frame and supports that keep the bar path controlled, so a solo user can rack and unrack under load without assistance. The second is handled by the material: stainless steel, 316L grade in this range, does not rust and needs no paint film to protect it, which matters most at the plate sleeves and the rack hooks where a coated machine chips first.
Loading with Olympic discs means the operator sets the available range through the plates supplied, and the same bench serves an untrained user pressing a light bar and an experienced lifter working close to maximum. Progression is continuous instead of stepped, and there is no selector mechanism to jam in wet or dusty conditions.

Positioning a pressing station in a public park
Bench presses attract the highest loads and the largest groups in an outdoor strength area, so they should not be tucked into a corner. Give the station space on both sides for a spotter and for people waiting, keep the head end clear so a user is never pressing towards a path, and provide plate storage within reach so discs are not left on the surfacing. Under free public access the station falls under EN 16630, with a peripheral safety zone and EN 1177 impact absorbing surfacing sized against the free height of fall. Where a site sits near the coast or a chlorinated pool area, stainless steel is the only material that holds up without a maintenance programme. We supply the implantation study, the anchorage drawing and the surfacing calculation, with quotations issued within 24 working hours.
Frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions of the station?
Overall dimensions, the ground footprint and the safety zone are supplied with the implantation study prepared for your site.
Can it be used without a spotter?
The fixed frame and bar supports allow controlled racking and unracking by a solo user. As with any pressing station, operators normally display usage guidance on site.
Are Olympic plates supplied?
No. Plates are quoted separately so the load range matches your users, and outdoor plate storage can be added to the project.
