The 41 m pump track adds nine linear metres of ridable line over the entry model, which is the point at which a loop stops being a single circuit and starts offering real route choice. It is built in weather resistant materials for repeated daily use, and the difficulty, the colours and the additional features are configurable rather than fixed, so the same length can be tuned towards beginners or towards experienced riders. Siting, ground preparation and build
The track is shaped and surfaced on site, so the ground is the starting point. Look for a plot that can be graded and drained, with vehicle access for a truck and compaction plant, and enough clear margin around the loop for riders to stop, queue and watch without standing on the line. Since a 41 m circuit is long enough for two or three riders to be moving at once, the waiting and spectating area matters more here than on the shortest tracks.
The configurable side of this model is decided before construction, not after. Difficulty is the main variable: a flatter line with gentler rollers suits a family site and young riders on scooters, while steeper transitions and tighter berms suit a scheme aimed at teenagers and club riders. Once built, the track has no moving parts and no running cost. Yes. The track is built for sunny afternoons and wet ones alike, and the materials are chosen for weather exposure and repeated use rather than for a single season. Riders should still expect reduced grip on a wet surface and adjust their speed.
How customisable is the layout?
