Description
The 53 m pump track is the length at which a facility starts behaving like a club venue: 53 linear metres of ramps and banked turns hold speed long enough for continuous laps and for several riders to circulate together. Mountain bikers use it to work on line choice, skateboarders and inline skaters use the banked turns for tricks, and scooter riders share the same surface. That combination makes it the size municipalities and leisure operators specify when they expect regular group use rather than occasional visits. It is priced at 52 450 EUR excluding VAT.

Site requirements, build and day to day operation
Budget for more than the riding envelope. A track of this length attracts groups, so the plot should include a gathering area outside the line, somewhere to leave bikes, and a clear entry point that does not put a rider straight into a banked turn. Boundaries, levels and drainage are surveyed before the layout is drawn, and the plot must be reachable by a truck and compaction plant because the track is shaped and surfaced in place.
Operationally the facility is close to maintenance free. There are no moving parts, no power supply and no consumables. What does need managing is peak time crowding: riders themselves report that a busy weekend afternoon is a very different experience from an early morning session, so signage that sets circulation direction and encourages riders to leave a gap on the line is worth putting in from the start.
Protective equipment should be recommended on the entrance panel: helmet, knee pads and elbow pads as a minimum, with beginners advised to ride a full lap slowly before building speed. Frequently asked questions
Is this the right length for a club or a training group?
It is a sensible starting point. At 53 linear metres the circuit carries enough continuous flow for repeated laps and technique work, which is what coaching sessions need. If you are planning organised competitions, look at the 90 m track, where the extra length gives space for a full event format.
Which sports can use the same track?
Mountain bikes, BMX, skateboards, inline skates and scooters all use it. The banked turns and ramps work for tricks as well as for pure flow, which is why the facility tends to attract several communities rather than one.
How much maintenance does it need?
The track has no mechanical components. Ongoing attention is limited to keeping the surface clean and clear, monitoring the edges and the drainage after heavy weather, and checking signage. The structure carries a warranty of 2 to 5 years depending on the range, with extensions available on steel elements.
