Description

This 20 mm rubber tile is manufactured at a density of 1000 kg/m3 from recycled SBR granulate bound with polyurethane resin, and weighs 17 kg per square metre. Density is what distinguishes it from a standard 20 mm tile: at 1000 kg/m3 the creep under a sustained load of 500 kg/m2 stays below 5 per cent over three years, which is the figure that decides whether a floor keeps its shape under fixed equipment.

The surface is a fine non slip grain. The tile absorbs impact noise and vibration, works indoors and outdoors between minus 20 and plus 70 degrees Celsius, and is intended for cardio areas, fitness rooms, home gyms and strength work with dumbbells up to 40 kg. At 17 kg per square metre it can be laid loose on a flat substrate, and it is bonded where the slope exceeds 2 per cent.

Fire classification is Efl to EN 13501-1, for use outside buildings subject to French ERP rules, and the tile is not certified to EN 1177: 20 mm is insufficient for a critical fall height of 1.00 m, for which the 25 mm reference is used.

Density, not just thickness

Two 20 mm tiles can behave very differently. A low density tile compresses under the feet of a rack or a cardio machine and keeps the imprint, while a 1000 kg/m3 tile holds its dimension, which is what the creep figure of less than 5 per cent over three years describes. On a floor that carries fixed equipment for a decade, that is the specification point that matters most.

Outdoors, plan an annual low pressure clean. Indoors, a vacuum and a damp mop with neutral detergent are sufficient.

Frequently asked questions

Can barbells be dropped on this tile?

It is specified for dumbbell work up to 40 kg. For barbell drop zones, use a thicker tile designed for that purpose.

Is it suitable for a playground surface?

No. It is not certified to EN 1177 and 20 mm is insufficient for a 1.00 m critical fall height.

How long does the floor last?

The warranty is three years and the estimated service life is 10 to 13 years, depending on traffic and on maintenance.
