Description
The Bodytone Pro Flow Mat is a 40 mm rubber gym flooring tile in compressed high density SBR, finished with the brand’s non porous Extra Smooth surface and intended for heavy drop zones. It is the reference tile for weightlifting platforms, powerlifting bays and intensive functional training areas where loads above 150 kg are set down repeatedly. The tile format is 100 x 100 cm, so one tile covers one square metre, and the price is 60 EUR excluding VAT per square metre. Fire classification is Efl to EN 13501-1, which restricts it to premises that are not open to the public.

Where 40 mm is the right thickness, and what the finish changes
Thickness is chosen by the impact the floor has to absorb, not by the size of the room. Below the drop zone, 40 mm of compressed high density rubber is what stands between a loaded bar and the concrete slab, and it is also what keeps impact noise from travelling through the structure to the floor below or the unit next door. Free weight areas, platforms and the landing zones of functional circuits justify this thickness. Cardio rows and stretching areas do not, and a thinner tile is the rational choice there.
The Extra Smooth surface is the operational argument for this reference over an entry level 40 mm tile. Standard tiles use a fine or extra fine grain, a micro texture that traps dust, chalk and sweat residue in its irregularities and needs regular brushing to clean properly. A flat non porous surface is cleaned in one pass with a damp mop, keeps a uniform deep black appearance over years of intensive use, and retains grip through the density of the SBR rather than through surface texture, including when the floor is wet with sweat.
Installation is loose laid over a clean, flat, dry substrate. Plan the level change at doorways and thresholds, since 40 mm is a significant step up from a bare slab, and check that racks, benches and machine feet sit stably on the finished surface. The Efl fire classification limits this reference to private facilities. For a gym open to the public, specify a Cfl-s1 classified tile instead and confirm the exact requirement with the safety commission or the inspection office before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
How does it compare with the 40 mm Training tile?
The Training tile uses a very fine grain finish, which is more porous, needs brushing and shows a less uniform appearance over time. The Pro Flow Mat adds the Extra Smooth non porous surface and controlled industrial manufacturing at a higher price per square metre.
Can it be installed in premises open to the public?
Not on this fire classification. Efl is the lowest step of the EN 13501-1 scale. Facilities receiving the public generally require Cfl-s1 or better, and the exact requirement depends on the type and category of the establishment.
How is the surface maintained?
A damp mop. Chalk, sweat and dust do not embed themselves in a non porous surface, so no brushing routine and no dedicated cleaning product are needed.
