Description

The Bodytone Pro Flow Mat 20 mm rubber tile — high-density SBR, smooth non-porous deep-black finish, 100 × 100 cm — is the professional flooring for cardio zones, pin-loaded strength areas and coaching studios. At around 20 kg/m², roughly 1,000 kg/m³ at 20 mm thickness, it sits at the top of the market’s density range and cleans with a damp mop alone. Priced at 30 EUR excluding VAT per m2.

What the smooth finish delivers

Against standard fine-grain rubber tiles, the Pro Flow Mat brings three concrete advantages. The smooth deep-black finish is identical to that of the Pro Flow Mat 40 mm, so a facility can mix both thicknesses zone by zone with a visually seamless result. The high surface mass keeps machines perfectly stable, prevents tile migration under intensive use and limits creep under prolonged static load. And the non-porous surface cleans instantly: a damp mop is enough — chalk, sweat and dust find no grain to cling to.

  • 100 × 100 cm format — one tile equals one square metre
  • Approx. 20 kg/m² — gravity holds the tile in place, no glue needed
  • Smooth, non-porous, deep-black surface — mop-clean, no scrubbing
  • Same finish as the 40 mm version for mixed-thickness layouts
  • Recycled high-density SBR rubber

Which zones it suits

In pin-loaded strength areas the density absorbs machine vibration while keeping equipment stable, and the smooth surface lets machines be repositioned without marking the floor. In cardio zones it damps treadmill and spin-bike vibration and wipes clean between classes in under a minute. In coaching and functional studios it provides a uniform surface for floor work and light free weights up to around 20 kg. For free-weight zones with barbell drops, the 40 mm version of the same range takes over — the deciding factor is dynamic impact, not machine weight.

Installation

Lay loose, edge to edge, in a staggered brick pattern on a dry, clean, flat concrete base (max. 3 mm per metre). The tile’s own mass holds it in place; optional edge profiles finish the perimeter. Beyond 100 m², or in zones with strong lateral forces, contact neoprene gluing is recommended. Where a regulatory acoustic constraint applies — upper floors, shared walls — add a PU foam underlay beneath the tiles. Allow 5 to 10% extra surface for offcuts.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 20 mm tile support heavy strength machines?

Yes. At around 20 kg/m² it carries pin-loaded machines, spin bikes and commercial treadmills without permanent deformation under static load. Its limit is dynamic impact: for Olympic bars set down or dropped on the floor, specify the 40 mm version of the range.

Can 20 mm and 40 mm tiles be mixed in the same gym?

Yes — that is the intended use of the range. The deep-black smooth finish is identical on both thicknesses, so a facility can run 20 mm everywhere and 40 mm on the drop zone with a coherent look. Plan a transition profile at the junction: the 20 mm step must be treated.

Is this tile suitable for public-access buildings?

No fire-reaction classification is documented for this reference yet. If your premises are a public-access building subject to a classification requirement, ask for the test report before ordering or specify a fire-classified reference from the catalogue — the required class is set by the project’s safety commission or inspection body.

How much should I order?

One tile equals one square metre, which keeps the count simple: measure the zone and add 5 to 10% for offcuts, towards the top of that range for irregular rooms. The Light In Fitness team draws up the laying plan and exact estimate on request.
