Tile design
- Draining surface: the checkerboard pattern is combined with double-groove drainage, which clears water quickly and maintains grip.
- Support layer: its thickness delivers the ball rebound; the mesh design stabilises the tile and distributes loads.
- Rounded corners: they limit the risk of cuts in a fall.
- Elastic clips: the reinforced locking absorbs thermal expansion and contraction, keeping the surface dimensionally stable from one season to the next.
FIBA 3×3 approval and competition references
The SES Elite tile is approved as FIBA Approved 3×3 Equipment in the 3×3 & Outdoor Flooring category (outdoor, portable, permeable type), under licence no. 3SF-063-1. The approval covers level 1, for elite competition including FIBA 3×3 Official Competitions and their direct qualifiers, and level 2, for any other 3×3 or outdoor basketball. The current certificate is handed to the customer when the order is placed.
The manufacturer, Enlio, is the official floor supplier of FIBA 3×3 (certificate valid until 31 December 2034) and supplied the 3×3 basketball surface at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The tile is used on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, at the 3×3 World Cup, in the Pro League and in the French 3×3 Superleague.
The approval certificate states that the surface is not suitable for play in wet conditions: competition is played on dry tiles. TPE and the draining structure speed up drying after rain, and electric blowers shorten it further.
Colours, markings and finishing
Three standard colours are available: dark grey, light grey and black. Other colours, such as green, blue or red, are studied on request to match the visual identity of the project. White, which soils easily, and orange, which has poor UV resistance, are not recommended.
Game lines and logo are produced according to the approved layout. Finishing profiles (edges and corners) close the perimeter of the court, in the standard colours or in a colour to be studied.
Suitable substrates
The tiles are laid on a flat, hard and uniform surface, free of areas where water collects, which would affect sports performance or the service life of the floor.
| Suitable | Concrete slab, asphalt, porous concrete (tennis court type), PVC floor, acrylic resin, timber floor with an underlay |
|---|---|
| Not recommended | Soil, grass, unstabilised gravel, sand |
Installation, assembly and dismantling
- Substrate: lay the tiles on a dry surface.
- Expansion: leave 2 to 5 cm free between the court and any fixed obstacle (wall, kerb, fence, post).
- Layout plan: the tiles are delivered in numbered boxes and laid according to the plan supplied.
- Alignment: check the alignment of the rows regularly during laying.
- Clipping: engage the tiles without forcing, then walk on them to check the locking.
The court can be played on as soon as laying is finished. For a court that is assembled and dismantled regularly, keep the delivery boxes, which are sized for the tiles.
| Configuration | Area with run-offs | Assembly or dismantling (indicative time) |
|---|---|---|
| 3×3 basketball | 256 m² (18.018 × 14.234 m) | 3 people, 3 h |
| 5-a-side basketball | 608 m² (32 × 19 m) | 6 people, 5 h |
Surface maintenance
- Routine cleaning: remove dust and marks with a mop or a dust mop.
- Products: soap or pH-neutral cleaner, in a weak solution.
- Never use: acids (bleach, vinegar, toilet cleaners), high-pH alkaline products, or cleaners containing oil, grease, solvents or abrasives.
- Use: suitable, clean sports shoes; no furniture placed on the surface.
Warranty, service life and documents
The SES Elite tile carries a 5-year warranty, excluding damage caused by transport or relocation of the product. The service life stated in the technical data sheet is 15 years and more. The data sheet and the approval certificate are handed to the customer when the order is placed – see our warranty terms.
SES Elite compared with the other tiles in the range
SES Elite is the reference model of the range: the thickest tile (2 cm), the 3×3 basketball surface of the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games, rated Cfl-s1 for reaction to fire. The other models suit tighter budgets for outdoor leisure or training courts.

Frequently asked questions
Is the SES Elite tile approved for FIBA 3×3 competition?
Yes. It is approved as FIBA Approved 3×3 Equipment, 3×3 & Outdoor Flooring category, licence no. 3SF-063-1, at level 1 (elite competition, including FIBA 3×3 Official Competitions) and level 2 (other 3×3 and outdoor basketball). The current certificate is handed to the customer when the order is placed.
What are the dimensions and weight of the SES Elite tile?
The tile measures 25 × 25 cm and is 2 cm thick, i.e. 16 tiles per m². The surface weighs 8.5 kg per m².
Which sports performance values have been measured?
The data sheet states 30% shock absorption (EN 14808), 1.2 mm vertical deformation (EN 14809), 100% vertical ball rebound (EN 12235) and a friction value of 102 (EN 13036-4). Water permeability exceeds 24,000 mm/h (EN 12616).
What substrate do SES Elite tiles need?
A flat, hard and uniform surface: concrete slab, asphalt, porous concrete, PVC floor, acrylic resin, or a timber floor with an underlay. Soil, grass, unstabilised gravel and sand are not recommended.
Can you play on SES Elite tiles after rain?
The approval certificate states that the surface is not suitable for play in wet conditions. The draining structure and TPE speed up drying, and electric blowers shorten it before play resumes.
How long does it take to assemble a court in SES Elite tiles?

Which colours are available?
Three standard colours: dark grey, light grey and black. Other colours are studied on request; white is not recommended because it soils easily, nor orange because of its poor UV resistance.
