Cold Pulse Pro cold plunge chiller, 0.75 HP compressor

The Cold Pulse Pro is a cold plunge chiller driven by a 0.75 HP compressor, capable of lowering water temperature by 12.5 degrees Celsius per hour and cooling 300 litres in 3.5 hours. Its CNC machined monoblock shell is IPX5 rated and UV resistant, so it can be installed indoors or outdoors. Integrated ozone sterilisation and a 20 micron filter cartridge keep the water clear with minimal intervention. The unit measures 79 x 43 x 48 cm and is priced at 2 500 EUR excluding VAT.

Sizing, siting and integration with an existing tub

A chiller is bought to solve one of two problems: converting a plain tub into a usable recovery station, or replacing a unit that cannot hold temperature through a busy afternoon. The relevant figure in both cases is the recovery rate rather than the minimum temperature, because in commercial use the water warms every time someone gets in. At 12.5 degrees Celsius per hour on 300 litres, this unit brings a tub back to set point between sessions rather than overnight.

Siting is where most installations go wrong. A chiller rejects heat, so it needs free air around the condenser and must not be boxed into a cupboard or pushed against a wall on the fan side. The 50 dB rating, achieved through variable speed pump and fan control, is low enough for the unit to sit near a treatment area, but it is not silent and should not be placed directly under a window of an occupied room. Electrically it needs 230 V on a dedicated 15 A circuit, and outdoors the IPX5 rating and UV resistant shell allow permanent installation. The compressor heating belt is the detail that makes winter operation viable in an unheated outdoor location.
