Group training only works if the structure can take it. A rig that serves one class of ten at 7 pm and another at 8 pm is under a load profile that has nothing to do with a rack used by two members at a time. The Bodytone GT12 is built for exactly that job: a single indoor structure designed to hold 12 to 15 users training simultaneously, with the hanging points and safety hardware to run a full class off one footprint.
What the GT12 actually is
The GT12 is a freestanding indoor training cage for group strength and functional work. Rather than dedicating floor area to a dozen separate stations, it concentrates the same capacity into one structure: pull-up bars with several grip positions, height-adjustable spotter arms for barbell work, and nine galvanised 25 mm hangers along the frame for accessories.
Those hangers are what make the unit flexible in daily operation. Suspension trainers, ropes, resistance bands and punch bags all attach directly, so a coach can reconfigure the circuit between classes without moving equipment across the floor. The unit ships with a 120 x 35 cm punch bag in high-density foam with a PVC cover, weighing 35 kg, and its hanger.
Construction and finish
The frame is welded steel tube with a 3 mm wall, robot-welded and free of weld spatter, with plate-to-plate structural connections of 8 + 8 mm for a rigid joint. That is the specification that decides whether a rig stays square after three years of loaded pull-ups.
The finish is a three-coat system. The steel is pickled and stabilised by full immersion in degreasing solutions, then given an anti-oxidation primer for internal corrosion isolation and paint adhesion, then two topcoats of epoxy polyester powder. On a rig that lives in a humid, chalk-heavy room, the primer stage matters more than the colour.

Why it makes commercial sense
Compare the GT12 to buying capacity station by station. Twelve separate pieces of equipment need twelve footprints, twelve sets of safety clearances and twelve maintenance items. One rig serving the same class needs a single footprint of roughly 3.1 by 1.3 metres and a single clearance envelope around it.
The commercial consequence is straightforward: a coach can run a paying class of twelve on the floor area a handful of individual machines would occupy. For an operator working with limited square metres, group training on a rig is one of the few ways to raise revenue per square metre without moving to a bigger unit.
The GT12 sits alongside the rest of the functional training rig range and the Bodytone Forza FH line, so a facility can extend from a single rig to a full strength floor without changing supplier.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can really train on it at once?
The structure is designed for group training of 12 to 15 users simultaneously. The practical number depends on the exercises programmed and on the clearance you leave around the rig, not on the frame alone.
Can it be installed outdoors?
No. The GT12 is specified for indoor use. Outdoor group training needs equipment designed and finished for permanent exposure, which is a different product family and a different standard.
Are accessories included?
The punch bag and its hanger are included. Other accessories, such as suspension trainers, ropes and bands, are supplied separately, which lets you match the accessory set to the classes you actually programme.
What standard applies?
As indoor training equipment for professional supervised use, a rig of this type is specified under EN ISO 20957-1 class S. Ask for that class in writing on any quotation for a commercial installation.
Specifying a GT12 for your floor
Before ordering, check three things: the assembled height of 239 cm against your ceiling, the clearance you can leave around a 311 x 131 cm footprint, and whether your floor build-up is suited to a 253 kg structure carrying dynamic load. Light In Fitness has been equipping professional facilities since 2013 and supplies the GT12 with layout advice and installation. Request a quote with your ceiling height and floor plan.
