Uses and limits

The ultra-smooth surface makes cleaning easier, and the connectors hold the tiles together without glue. The required fire class and the reference dossier must be checked with the project inspection body. Fire classification alone does not establish complete building compliance. Confirm the colour with the order.

Bfl-s1: reference, finish and installation

Bfl-s1 is the announced class for this smooth 30 mm reference. Before specification, obtain a dossier linking the exact two-layer construction, smooth finish, colour, thickness, subfloor and connector installation to the supplied reference. A report for an SBR/EPDM finish must not be transferred to a different smooth surface without documentary support.

The test thickness and the thickness range declared by a manufacturer are different information. A range declared in a document does not mean that every thickness was individually tested. Distinguish the laboratory report from a manufacturer declaration and check the scope of each document.

Technical specifications

Two-layer construction

The tile combines two layers: a high-density rubber surface that takes the impacts and the traffic, and an underlay of SBR granules formed into studs, which lets moisture circulate beneath the covering instead of trapping it against the substrate.

The top surface is smooth and compact: it does not hold dirt and cleans with a mop or a scrubber-drier, with no special treatment. The tiles clip to one another, which gives a straight floor with no drift over the length of the room.

Working out quantities and delivery

Allow for the usable surface plus a cutting margin for edges and cut-outs around machines. Delivery is on pallets and is not included in the price: transport costs depend on quantity and destination and are stated on the quotation.

Installation

The tiles are joined by connectors that fit into the recesses on the underside: they push in without force and align the tiles with one another, with no adhesive. The tiles are laid on a flat, clean and dry subfloor, edge to edge with no gap between them. Leave an expansion gap of about 5 mm between the flooring and the walls. Start with a full row along a wall or facing the entrance, then lay in a staggered pattern, offsetting the joints from one row to the next, to spread the stresses. Subfloor preparation should be confirmed according to the condition of the existing floor and the intended use.

Care

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dust, sand and abrasive particles. Wash with a slightly damp mop or a scrubber-dryer fitted with soft brushes, using a pH-neutral detergent suitable for rubber flooring, then rinse with clean water if needed and leave to dry. Wipe up any spilled liquid straight away.

Do not use: wire brushes or abrasive pads, bleach, vinegar, bathroom cleaners, high-pH strippers, or products containing oils, greases or solvents. The floor is used with clean sports shoes.
