Description
A wet area floor is not chosen like a gym floor. It works permanently under standing water, under chlorine, under salt and under bare feet. This 6 mm tile is designed for exactly that environment: grip maintained when the surface is wet, water drainage, and chemical resistance to chlorine and salt water. The single colour version is the plainest in the range: one continuous shade, no pattern and no marking.
A plain shade, not a decor
That is the difference with the two-tone millable version of the same range: here there is no drawing and no marking, one colour across the whole tile. It is the choice for spaces where the floor should disappear behind the design, from spas and relaxation areas to upmarket hotels, and it is also the more affordable of the two versions.
A boat deck material
This covering was not developed for swimming pools. It comes from the marine world, where it covers decks, and the specification there is harsher than around a pool: salt, permanent sun, spray, and bare feet on a surface that moves. The move to pool surrounds, changing rooms and showers happened naturally, keeping even the pattern: the light lines that structure the surface represent, on a deck, the caulking between teak planks.

Constant grip, drainage, a stable surface even where water stands, quiet underfoot, and high chemical resistance to chlorine, salt and continuous humidity. Which areas is it for?
Pool surrounds and poolside walkways. The most demanding zone in the building: permanent water, bare feet, heavy circulation. This is where wet grip and water evacuation decide the safety of the public.
Changing rooms and communal showers. A permanently wet floor, frequent cleaning products and barefoot traffic. Chemical resistance matters as much as grip here, because a standard gym covering degrades quickly.
Spa, steam room and wellness areas. The plain shade steps back behind the interior design. This is the use the manufacturer explicitly positions this version for, in hotels and upmarket wellness centres.
Wet circulation between pool and changing room. Connecting corridors concentrate slips. The low thickness makes the junction with adjoining floors easier and limits the step to cross.
What to know before ordering
The slip classification is not published: insist on it. This is the most important line on this page. The manufacturer states a high coefficient of friction in wet conditions but publishes no barefoot class (DIN 51097 A, B or C), no shod class (R9 to R13) and no test report. In a building open to the public, and especially around a pool, that figure is normally requested by the inspection body and by the insurer. Ask us for the classification before you commit to the project and we will obtain it from the manufacturer.
The drainage geometry is not described. Drainage is stated, but nothing is published about how the water is evacuated: perforations, grooving or an open structure. If your project imposes a flow rate or a connection to channel drains, have the point confirmed before ordering.
6 mm is a finishing thickness. This covering does not protect the substrate from dropped loads and is not intended for weightlifting areas or for the surroundings of a rack, where a rubber tile of 20 to 40 mm remains essential.
Material, density and fire classification are not published either. These figures are requested in buildings open to the public. Ask for the full technical data sheet before pricing a contract.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the two-tone millable version?
This version is a single shade with no drawing. The two-tone version is made of two layers of different colours: milling the top layer reveals the colour underneath, which allows a logo, circulation lines or zone boundaries to be built into the floor itself. The price gap between the two is significant.
Does it resist chlorine and salt water?
The manufacturer states high chemical resistance to chlorine, salt and continuous humidity. That is the central argument of this range, which was designed for aquatic environments.
Can it be laid over an existing floor?
On a hard, clean, dry and flat substrate. At 6 mm, every irregularity of the substrate reads through to the surface. In a wet area the existing drainage falls have to be preserved, which is a point to check during the survey.
Is it suitable for barefoot use?
That is its purpose: pool surrounds, showers and changing rooms. Since the barefoot slip class is not published, request it if your project requires one.
What maintenance does it need?
Washing with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and abrasive pads, which attack the wear layer.
