Description

The Lock Tiles smooth premium rubber tile interlocks on all four sides with no glue: a 25 mm, 1,000 kg/m3 tile with a deep black smooth surface and a two-layer structure on damping pads. About 12 m2 goes down in 15 minutes and comes up again without residue. Price: 37.50 EUR excluding VAT per m2.

What the premium buys — stated honestly

Density, fire class and composition are identical to a standard 25 mm SBR tile; the extra cost buys four design decisions, not more material. One: a four-side interlocking system that a single person can lay tool-free and dismantle without glue residue — decisive for rented premises and reconfigurable rooms. Two: a smooth, non-porous deep black surface that cleans with a mop alone, no scrubbing. Three: a two-layer structure whose lower damping pads dissipate impact energy in micro air chambers before it reaches the slab — audibly gentler for downstairs neighbours than a solid block. Four: a manufacturing process that sharply reduces the rubber smell on unpacking, so the room is usable immediately.

Stable under real training loads

The high-density upper layer stabilises footing and resists point loads: racks, benches, dumbbells and professional machines sit flat without sinking. The smooth finish grips through density rather than roughness and stays slip-resistant in normal gym use. Fire classification is Efl (EN 13501-1) — private and internal-use spaces, not public-access buildings — and this tile carries no EN 1177 playground certification, so specify a certified tile under play equipment.

Can Lock Tiles be mixed with standard loose-lay tiles?

No — the interlock profile only mates with other Lock Tiles. Plan whole zones in one system, or separate systems room by room.

Is it really suitable for upstairs home gyms?

It is the best-suited 25 mm tile of the range: the damping-pad layer dissipates jump and set-down energy before the slab, and the glue-free system leaves a rented floor untouched. Where acoustic limits are regulatory rather than comfort-driven, add a PU foam underlay beneath.
