Description
This outdoor exercise bike is a cardio station for fitness trails, built on hot-dip galvanised S235 steel tube of 114 mm diameter and 2.5 mm wall thickness. The user sits, takes both handles and pedals: the movement drives the legs while the arm action loads the chest, and the whole thing raises cardio-pulmonary capacity without any settings to adjust.
Material specification, part by part
Outdoor equipment fails at its weakest component, not at its frame, which is why the material schedule matters more here than on an indoor machine.
- Main structure: galvanised S235 steel tube, 114 mm diameter, 2.5 mm wall
- Moving parts: 60 mm and 48 mm diameter tube, 2 mm wall
- Connecting tubes: 38 mm and 32 mm diameter, 2 mm wall
- Fasteners: AISI 304 stainless steel
- Seats and trim: rotomoulded HDPE, 6 to 10 mm thick
- Grips: thermoplastic rubber. Pedals and caps: polypropylene
Coating and colour
Over the galvanising sits a single powder coat of polyester resin, hardeners and pigments, lead free and formulated for weather resistance. The standard combination is matt black with metallic grey RAL 9006. Because the zinc layer is metallurgically bonded under the paint, a scratch from a bicycle or a skateboard does not start a corrosion path across the frame.

Handling and installation
The heaviest single component weighs 40 kg and the largest measures 105 x 52.2 x 113.8 cm, so a two-person team can position the parts without lifting plant. The base must be stable and level before the anchors supplied are set. After installation, add the station to the periodic inspection routine and increase the maintenance frequency where use is heavy.
Frequently asked questions
Are the stainless fasteners a sign that the whole frame is stainless?
No, and the distinction matters. The frame is galvanised S235 carbon steel; AISI 304 stainless is used for the bolts and screws, where a seized or rusted fastener would make future maintenance impossible.
What upkeep does it need?
Periodic checks of fixings and moving parts, and washing down. No component requires special treatment at end of life. Where the station is heavily used, shorten the inspection interval rather than waiting for the annual visit.
Who can use it?
The pedalling action is self-paced and needs no instruction, so it suits all ages and fitness levels. It is commonly specified for public parks, school grounds, outdoor fitness centres and private residential grounds.
