Description
The cross competition outdoor squat rack in 316L stainless steel is the most compact strength post in the competition range, supplied as a standalone structure. It installs directly onto an existing sports surface, which is what allows a site to multiply squat and press stations without extending the slab or the surfacing. The bar sits at several heights for squats and presses, and the narrow format means a row of racks can be aligned on one platform, or a single post can be added where space is tight.
Construction is 316L marine grade stainless steel, chosen for permanent exposure: it holds up in coastal air, in chlorinated environments and in salt laden atmospheres, and maintenance is limited to cleaning and periodic inspection of the fixings. There is no paint film to fail and no galvanising to touch up, which is the operational argument for stainless in an unsupervised outdoor installation.

Outdoor installation, compliance and anchoring
Where the rack is installed in open access conditions, such as a municipal fitness area, a park or a school yard, it falls under EN 16630 for outdoor fitness modules. That brings two requirements: a peripheral safety zone of at least 1.50 m clear of obstacles, and an impact attenuating surface under and around the structure compliant with EN 1177, with the thickness dimensioned to the free fall height. On enclosed private sites such as a military base, a company facility or a private box, those figures remain the reference for good practice even where the standard is not formally enforced.
Anchoring is by base plates set into a concrete foundation, or bolted to an existing concrete slab where one is already in place. Why 316L rather than galvanised steel?
316L contains molybdenum, which gives markedly better resistance to chlorides than standard grades. In seafront, poolside or de icing salt environments it is the specification that avoids the recurring repainting and pitting seen on coated structures. Stainless structures carry a lifetime warranty.
