Description
The Bodytone premium CrossFit barbell is a 220 cm, 20 kg bar running on 16 bearings, twice the number fitted to the standard Bodytone CrossFit bar. That doubled bearing count produces a noticeably freer sleeve rotation, which is where the difference is felt on the snatch and the clean and jerk, when the bar has to turn over quickly under the hands. The 28 mm grip diameter is the mixed strength and conditioning standard, and the black hard chrome finish raises resistance to corrosion and to intensive wear. The list price is 445.90 EUR excluding VAT.

Who should specify this level of bar
A premium bar is not the right purchase for every rack. It earns its place where a box or gym has a population of advanced members doing technical lifting several times a week, or where the equipment itself is part of the commercial positioning of the site. In those settings the smoother rotation shows up in cleaner turnover and less wrist strain during high repetition barbell cycling, and members recognise the difference between this and the entry level bar on the next rack.
For general strength floors, mixed classes or a first equipment fit out, the standard Bodytone CrossFit bar with 8 bearings covers the requirement at a lower cost per station, and the budget difference is usually better spent on plates or flooring. A practical approach for a box is to buy a small number of premium bars for the competition rack or the coaching platform and standard bars for the class lanes.
Installation and care follow the usual rules for a 220 cm bar. Check that the rack J cups and the platform bay accept the full length, load drops onto bumper plates over rubber gym flooring, and store bars horizontally rather than upright against a wall. Wipe the shaft after each session, brush chalk out of the knurling weekly, and inspect the snap rings and end caps as part of the periodic equipment check. The hard chrome layer resists corrosion but sweat left on the bar overnight will still mark it.
Frequently asked questions
What do 16 bearings change compared with 8?
They spread the rotational load across more contact points, which keeps the spin smoother and more even under heavier bars and during fast, repeated lifts. On slow strength work the difference is far less noticeable.
What are the dimensions and weight?
220 cm overall, 20 kg, with a 28 mm grip and 50 mm sleeves. Confirm rack spacing and available platform width before ordering a set.
Can several references be combined on one quotation?
Yes. Light In Fitness has been supplying gyms, hotels, local authorities and specialist facilities from Tours since 2013, and a single quotation can cover bars, plates, racks and flooring for a complete project.
