Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit reverse pec deck is a mixed ability outdoor station designed for standing users and for wheelchair users alike. The exercises strengthen the muscles of the scapular girdle and the shoulders and stimulate the muscles of the posterior thorax and the back. A folding seat mechanism gives wheelchair users direct access to the working position, so the station does not need to be duplicated in an accessible version alongside the standard one.
At 780 x 581 mm on plan it is narrower than the forward facing pec deck in the same range, which changes how it is placed: it fits into a tighter run of a circuit while still requiring its full 378 x 405 cm safety zone. Structure is welded S355 and S235 steel, hot dip galvanised then oven baked with a double powder coat in red and graphite (RAL 3000 and RAL 7016), with a high density polyethylene seat resistant to weather and ultraviolet. It is certified to EN 16630:2015 and approved by TUV Rheinland.

Building a balanced outdoor circuit
Outdoor fitness areas tend to be specified around pushing and pulling equipment for the arms, with the posterior shoulder and upper back left out. That imbalance shows up in the population most likely to use a municipal circuit, where desk based posture is the underlying issue. A reverse pec deck addresses exactly that region, which is why it is worth including even in a compact scheme, and why it is often installed facing the forward pec deck so a user can work both directions in sequence.
The 378 x 405 cm safety zone governs the layout and must be free of paths, benches, planting and neighbouring apparatus. The approach for a wheelchair must be firm, level and continuous, with turning space at the station. Impact attenuating surfacing is sized to the free fall height under EN 1177, and the pylon is anchored into a concrete foundation designed for the ground conditions. Typical settings are urban parks, schools, residential developments and municipal fitness schemes.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the standard pec deck?
It works the movement in the reverse direction and has a narrower plan footprint, 780 x 581 mm against 733 x 1049 mm, with a slightly different safety zone. Both share the same Steel4Fit construction, the same folding seat and the same certification.
Is the pylon supplied?
Yes, the 50 kg mounting pylon is included in the weight given above. Foundation design and anchoring are specified against the ground conditions at survey stage.
Can it be quoted with other stations?
Yes. A quotation can cover a complete circuit, including surfacing and installation, and is issued within 24 working hours. Light In Fitness has equipped local authorities and specialist facilities from Tours since 2013.
