Description
The Etenon R8401 is a guided selectorised hip thrust with a retractable pivoting roller, a counterbalanced arm and nine adjustment combinations covering every body size. The hip thrust is the most effective loaded glute exercise available, and it is also the one members most often abandon, because getting into position under a barbell is awkward and the set-up takes longer than the set. The R8401 removes that barrier entirely.
The hip roller retracts and pivots out of the way for entry and exit, so a user sits down, brings the roller into place and starts, rather than shuffling underneath a fixed pad. The arm then adjusts in five length positions to match leg length and four starting positions to set the initial tension, giving nine combinations in total. That range is what allows a short member and a tall one to reach the same biomechanically correct position rather than compromise on one of them.
The arm is mechanically counterbalanced, so resistance at the start of the movement is effectively zero. Hip tendons and gluteals are therefore not loaded in the vulnerable stretched position, which is the point at which conventional hip thrust set-ups cause problems. It is also what makes the machine usable in post-operative rehabilitation protocols. The semi-circular back pad spreads the load evenly across the lower back instead of concentrating it on a narrow contact line, and is upholstered in dual density synthetic leather that resists perspiration.

Professional use and commercial positioning
A hip thrust machine is now a demand driver rather than a nice to have. Glute focused programming is the single most requested category in mixed and women’s clubs, and a dedicated guided machine is visibly better than a bench and a barbell, so it reads as an argument for membership rather than as another machine. Place it where it is seen, not tucked into the corner of the free weight area, and allow clear space in front for the legs to extend and beside the seat for entry. Rehabilitation practices specify it for the retractable roller and the counterbalanced arm, which together allow controlled hip extension loading very early in a protocol. Premium hotels and resort spas choose it for the finish. We will position it within your layout free of charge from your floor plan.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a machine hip thrust better than a barbell hip thrust?
Set-up time drops to seconds, the load path is guided, the back is supported on a shaped pad, and the counterbalanced arm removes resistance at the start position. Members actually use it, which is the difference that matters commercially.
Will the machine fit users of very different heights?
Five arm length positions and four starting positions give nine combinations, which is what allows small and tall users to reach a correct position without compromise.
Is it suitable for rehabilitation?
The retractable roller and the counterbalanced arm are the two features that make it usable in post-operative protocols, since the user does not have to manoeuvre under a load and the movement begins without resistance. Programming remains the responsibility of the practitioner.
