Description
Volans combines a seven-mast rope set carrying four net modules with a double slide finished in animal-themed HPL panels. At 13.9 x 10.0 m and 4.6 m high it sits between the small mast sets and the large park structures — the size most campsites, holiday villages and mid-size municipal playgrounds actually need.
Climb and slide in one item
Most rope sets in this construction system are pure climbing. Volans adds a descent, and a double one at that, so two children come down side by side. That matters more than it sounds: a shared slide turns a solo climb into a social activity, and it gives younger children in the range an obvious goal at the top.
- Seven steel load-bearing masts
- Four net modules suspended between the masts
- Double slide with animal-themed HPL panels
Theming that survives outdoors
The decorative panels are high-pressure laminate, UV- and weather-resistant. HPL holds its colour outdoors without recoating and is replaced rather than refinished if it is impact-damaged — which is the right approach on a site where theming is the first thing to attract attention and the first thing to attract vandalism.
Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel structure, nets in braided polyamide rope reinforced with a zinc-coated steel core, HPL decorative panels. Foundations at 1.0 m depth.
Surfacing
The landing area must be laid with an impact-attenuating surface suited to the 2.85 m free height of fall and certified to EN 1177, across the 18.3 x 14.0 m safety area. The equipment itself conforms to EN 1176-1:2017 and is certified by an independent body; the surfacing is governed by EN 1177 and priced separately.

Frequently asked questions
How much ground does Volans need?
About 256 m² for the safety area, plus circulation. The slide exit needs its own run-out clearance within that envelope, so orientation on the plot matters.
Can the animal theme be changed?
The HPL panels are the variable element and can be adapted to a site identity. The structural components and their certification are unaffected.
Is a double slide harder to supervise?
No — it is easier. Two children descending side by side are both in view, whereas a tube slide hides its users. On campsites and holiday parks where supervision is by parents rather than staff, this is a common reason for choosing it.
Send us the plot dimensions, the age profile of your site and your surfacing intentions, and we will return a costed proposal with the siting drawing for Volans within 24 business hours.
