Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit hand wheels station weighs 35 kg, measures 57 x 100 x 140-150 cm and needs a safety zone of 400 x 357 cm. It is the reinforced version of the classic outdoor wheel trainer, built to the Steel4Fit specification for sites where the equipment is used every day and rarely supervised.
What the exercise does
The user grips one wheel in each hand and drives a continuous rotation, forwards or backwards. The movement is low-load and self-paced, so it works as a warm-up before a circuit, as a mobility drill for older users, and as a rehabilitation-friendly station in a public park.
- Strengthens the shoulder girdle, the deltoids and the arms
- Increases range of motion in the shoulder and elbow joints
- Difficulty rating: easy, open to all user profiles
- Minimum user height 140 cm, maximum user weight 150 kg
Why the Steel4Fit build differs
Curved members are formed from seamless S355 steel and straight members from S235 steel. Every part is hot-dip galvanised, then powder-coated twice. The result is a heavier section and a thicker protective system than the standard outdoor range, which matters on coastal sites, in de-icing salt zones and in city-centre locations exposed to vandalism. The range is identified by its red and graphite livery, RAL 3000 and RAL 7016.

Where it fits in a circuit
Hand wheels are typically placed at the entrance of an outdoor fitness area rather than in the middle of it. They give arriving users an approachable first station, and they generate almost no queueing because a set lasts under a minute. On a trail of eight to twelve stations, one wheel unit for every four strength stations is a workable ratio.
Frequently asked questions
How does this differ from the standard TRAINER hand wheels?
The exercise is identical. The difference is structural: seamless S355 curved sections, hot-dip galvanising and two powder coats instead of the standard treatment. Choose Steel4Fit when the site is coastal, heavily frequented or hard to maintain.
Does the station need its own foundation?
It is post-mounted, so the foundation is sized for the pylon rather than for a wide ground frame. Several stations can share a multi-position post, which shortens the civil works on a full trail.
Is it suitable for users with reduced mobility?
The wheels can be turned from a standing position at two heights, between 140 and 150 cm. For a fully inclusive layout, tell us at quotation stage and we will propose the seated and wheelchair-accessible references from the same range.
Send us the number of stations, the ground conditions and the delivery postcode, and we will return a project quotation covering equipment, freight and optional installation.
