Description

The TRAINER raising leg station is the hardest module in the OutdoorFit range: a suspended leg raise frame measuring 102 x 71 x 202 cm, weighing 25 kg without its support pylon and 75 kg with it. It is rated difficult, works inside a safety zone of 482 x 451 cm and is certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland. On a municipal circuit it is the station that keeps trained users coming back.

Movement and progression

The user supports their body weight on the forearm pads or the grips and raises the legs against gravity. Because the load is body mass and the lever is the leg, the exercise scales itself: bent knees for the first attempt, straight legs for a strong user, controlled lowering for anyone who wants it harder still.

  • Abdominal wall and hip flexors as the primary movers
  • Arms, shoulders and grip working isometrically to hold the support position
  • Back musculature stabilising the suspended torso
  • Whole-body recruitment varies with the exercise variation chosen
  • Users above 140 cm in height, up to 150 kg

Why a difficult station belongs on a public circuit

There is a temptation, when specifying equipment for a park, to keep every station accessible. The result is a circuit that no one uses twice. Trained users, who are also the users who make a fitness area look busy and therefore safe, need at least one station they cannot complete on the first attempt.

The raising leg is that station, and it costs the same as an easy one. Its 482 x 451 cm safety zone, roughly 22 m2, is the largest in the single-station range because the legs travel through a wide arc, so position it at the edge of the layout where the zone can overlap free space rather than another station.

Like the rest of the OutdoorFit modules it carries no frame: the pylon or a load-bearing wall provides the structure, and a single column can serve more than one module. The steel is galvanised before painting, which is what protects the base of the assembly where water stands. Frequently asked questions

Is a difficult station a liability on an unsupervised site?

No more than a pull-up bar. The exercise is self-limiting: a user who cannot hold the support position simply steps down. The station is certified to EN 16630:2015-06 with its safety zone defined, and the minimum user height of 140 cm is signed at the entrance to the area.

Why is the safety zone larger than on other modules?

Because the legs sweep forward through a wide arc while the user is suspended. The 482 x 451 cm figure accounts for that travel, which is why this module is normally placed at the perimeter of a circuit.

Can it share a pylon with an easier station?

Often yes, and it is a good pairing: a difficult module and an easy one on the same column give two user groups a reason to stop at the same point on the route. We confirm which combinations work on the layout drawing.

Send us the circuit length, the user profile and the ground conditions, and we will return a scaled layout with the difficulty spread balanced across the route and each module, pylon and foundation costed. Quotations are issued within 24 to 72 hours.
