Description
The TRAINER ladder is a vertical climbing frame for street workout and parkour training, measuring 70 x 100 x 211 cm and weighing 55 kg. It is rated difficult, carries users up to 150 kg inside a safety zone of 367.5 x 398 cm, and is certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland. At 540 EUR excluding VAT it is the lowest-priced module in this part of the OutdoorFit range.
Climbing as full-body training
Climbing is the movement pattern most outdoor fitness circuits leave out, and it is the one that recruits the largest proportion of the body in a single exercise. Grip, pull, brace and drive all work simultaneously, which is why parkour and obstacle-course training is built around it.
- Arms, back and chest driving and controlling the ascent
- Legs pushing and placing on the rungs
- Abdominal wall and trunk bracing the body against the frame
- Grip strength and coordination developed continuously through the climb
- Users above 140 cm in height, up to 150 kg

Height, standards and who the module is for
At 211 cm the ladder is tall enough to train on and short enough to stay within the EN 16630 framework for outdoor fitness equipment rather than the EN 1176 framework that governs playgrounds. That distinction matters when a site sits between the two, because a fitness area is designed for users above 140 cm while a play area is designed for children, and the surfacing, signage and inspection regimes differ.
Signing the site correctly is therefore part of the specification. Where a fitness circuit adjoins a play area, we separate the two zones on the layout and mark the minimum user height at the entrance to the fitness equipment.
The module is post-mounted: the pylon or wall fixing is quoted separately, and one column can often carry the ladder plus a second module. Steel is shot blasted and galvanised before the two polyester coats. See the street workout rig range for larger structures and the outdoor gym equipment catalogue for the rest of the circuit.
Frequently asked questions
Is a climbing module appropriate on a public site?
Yes, within an EN 16630 outdoor fitness area signed for users above 140 cm. The module is certified and TUV tested, its safety zone is defined, and at 211 cm the climb is deliberately shorter than a playground climbing structure.
Can children use it?
The equipment is specified for users of 140 cm and above, which is the design population of an outdoor fitness area rather than a playground. Where a project needs equipment for younger children, we specify from the play range instead, under EN 1176 and EN 1177.
What surfacing is required underneath?
EN 16630 defines the safety zone rather than mandating an impact-attenuating surface as EN 1177 does for play areas. In practice the surfacing follows the station mix and the site context, and it is drawn on the layout plan.
Send us the site dimensions, the modules under consideration and the age profile of the users, and we will return a scaled layout with safety zones and a full project cost. Quotations are issued within 24 to 72 hours.
