Description
The Tiaki spreads a forest of climbing ropes across more than 26 m of playground: forty vertical ropes with plastic handholds hang from a single large-diameter steel tube, punctuated by thirty-three small rubber mats and a longitudinal mat. It is climbing at crowd scale – built for parks and school grounds where dozens of children arrive at once.
Forty ropes, zero waiting
Capacity is the Tiaki’s defining feature. With forty independent climbing ropes, an entire class can train grip, arm strength and coordination simultaneously – no queues, no bottlenecks. The 350 x 350 mm mesh network and scattered rubber mats create paths, perches and rest points across the 26.5 x 20.4 m span, while the low 2.9 m profile keeps supervision easy and the visual impact on the landscape gentle.

Frequently asked questions
How many children can use the Tiaki at once?
With forty ropes plus mats and nets spread over 540 square metres of structure, the Tiaki absorbs whole school classes – it is one of the highest-capacity climbers we offer.
Why the low 2.9 m height?
The horizontal format prioritises breadth over height: children get maximum climbing volume while supervisors keep clear sight lines across the entire structure.
What are the ground requirements?
Foundations reach 1.0 m and the 30.6 x 25.4 m safety zone needs impact-attenuating surfacing rated for the 2.9 m free fall height.
