Description
The Bodytone EVOR2 is a recumbent bike with a 180 kg user capacity, a hybrid self generating brake rated at 350 W and a frame in 110 x 52 mm steel tube with a 3 mm wall. The 180 kg capacity is the number that decides which sites can use it, and it is well above the norm for a seated bike.
Recumbent bikes exist for the members other machines exclude: users returning from injury, people with balance or joint limitations, older members and anyone for whom an upright saddle is uncomfortable. The seated position with a supported back removes the load from the wrists, lower back and perineum, and puts the user in a stable posture where the only variable is how hard they pedal.
Handles are fitted on both sides of the seat with contact heart rate sensors and fingertip controls, so intensity is changed without reaching forward. Resistance runs across twenty intensity points selected by a joystick, driven by a hybrid self generating brake. The cranks are extra reinforced steel and the pedals are platforms with adjustable straps, which suits users who cannot lift a foot into a toe clip. The seat and back are ergonomic with anti perspiration covering, a bottle holder is fitted and transport wheels are integrated. The display is a dot matrix console.

Who a recumbent bike is bought for
Rehabilitation centres, medical fitness rooms, residential care settings, hotels with an older clientele and any club with a broad age range all need at least one seated bike. It is often the machine a member uses for their first month back after surgery, and the one that keeps a nervous new joiner in the building long enough to try anything else.
Access is the design consideration. Leave space at the side for a user to sit down and swing their legs in, rather than pushing the bike against a wall on both sides. Transport wheels make repositioning straightforward. A siting plan is issued with the quotation once we have your room drawing. We deliver to France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, quote export per project, and dispatch within five to ten working days from stock.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose a recumbent over an upright bike?
The supported back and the low step through make it usable by people who cannot sit on an upright saddle comfortably, which is a substantial part of a general population and almost all of a rehabilitation caseload.
What does a self generating brake mean for installation?
The machine produces power for its own resistance system and console from the user’s pedalling, which simplifies the electrical planning of a cardio area.
Is 180 kg the working limit?
It is the manufacturer’s stated maximum user weight and should be respected for warranty and for the life of the bearings and frame.
