Description
This 40 mm artificial turf tile is a two layer hybrid: 15 mm of recycled SBR rubber as a shock absorbing base, and 25 mm of high density artificial turf on the surface. It is not a black tile tinted green. The top layer carries real synthetic grass fibres in several tones, so the finished area reads as mown lawn rather than as a coloured sports surface.
The base is what makes it usable in a play or training area. Recycled SBR at 900 kg per cubic metre provides the impact attenuation, certified to EN 1177 with a critical fall height of 0.90 m, and its micro porous structure drains, so after rain the turf dries quickly without puddles or standing water. UV treatment gives documented colour stability over 10 years outdoors, without yellowing or fading.
At 20 kg per square metre this is the lightest 40 mm tile in the catalogue, which matters more than it sounds. Roof terraces, balconies and podium decks have load limits, and a lighter tile widens the range of substrates the product can be laid on. Installation is loose laid on concrete, asphalt, EPDM or a PVC roof membrane.

Where a turf tile solves a real problem
Two situations recur. The first is a roof terrace or a courtyard where a lawn is wanted but soil, drainage and irrigation are impossible. The second is a play or fitness area that has to meet EN 1177 impact attenuation but must not look like a municipal safety surface. This tile answers both: the fall protection is certified, and the finish is a lawn.
The fibres are soft underfoot, which is relevant where children, bare feet, socks or sandals are involved. Compared with a plain green 25 mm rubber tile at 45 EUR per m2, this product has a completely different appearance and feel, since the green tile is surfaced in rubber granules with no grass fibres at all. Maintenance is limited to brushing and a hose down. Volume pricing is available for large areas and public sector orders.
