Sports equipment for holiday residences and serviced tourist residences
A group operating several residences does not buy the way a single site does. Light In Fitness therefore offers a framework agreement: one standard equipment package approved once, repeated residence after residence, with commercial terms set against the overall commitment rather than against each order taken separately.
The multi-site framework agreement
Within that framework, discounts reach up to 30 % on selected ranges. The exact rate depends on the ranges chosen and on the scope committed; it is fixed in the quotation, before any order.
| Element of the framework agreement | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Standard package | One configuration approved once, adapted to each residence according to the area available |
| Commercial terms | Up to 30 % off selected ranges, rate fixed in the quotation according to the scope committed |
| Installation schedule | Site-by-site rollout, planned for low-occupancy periods |
| Spare parts | Common references across all residences, pooled stock on wear parts |
| Point of contact | A single contact for equipment, flooring, installation and follow-up |
The condition is simple: the commitment covers several properties belonging to the same group, network or operating company. A single residence is handled through a standard quotation.
What a holiday residence asks of its fitness space
The use has nothing in common with that of a commercial gym. Five characteristics shape the choice of equipment, and none of them concerns athletic performance.
- Permanent turnover of users: body sizes, ages and levels change every week. Adjustments must be obvious without explanation and without tools.
- No supervision on site: nobody corrects a bad posture or puts a pin back. Passive safety of the equipment matters more than range of adjustment.
- Marked seasonality: a few weeks of heavy use, then long months of standstill. It is the stop-start cycles that wear equipment out, not only the hours of operation.
- Remote maintenance: no dedicated technical team. Equipment that needs a specialist intervention stays out of service until the end of the season.
- Effect on bookings: the fitness space is photographed, reviewed and compared on booking platforms. It weighs on the decision as much as the pool does.
Indoor or outdoor: judging by season and space
| Criterion | Indoor fitness room | Outdoor fitness |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | All year, independent of the weather | Over the operating season, busiest in the cooler hours |
| Space used | A dedicated room, heated and ventilated | A footprint on space that already exists |
| Reference standard | EN ISO 20957-1, class S, professional indoor use | EN 16630, permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment |
| Upkeep | Cleaning, checking cables and bearings | Checking anchors, treating any corrosion points |
| By the sea | Ventilation and dehumidification essential | 316L stainless steel recommended in a saline atmosphere |
| Supervision | Access controlled by badge or key | Free access, so passive safety and impact-absorbing surfacing are required |
Most residences combine the two: a compact room open all year, and an outdoor area that absorbs the peak of high season without taking up any built floor area.
The standard package by size of residence
| Profile | What guests expect | Families of equipment to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Residence under 50 units | A quick session, general upkeep | Compact cardio, mobility, a few guided-load machines |
| Residence of 50 to 150 units | A space usable by several people, morning and evening peaks | Cardio, guided load, stretching zone, suitable flooring |
| Residence over 150 units | A booking argument in its own right | Complete indoor package plus an outdoor area |
| Graded or upmarket residence | Consistency with the general level of service | Careful finishes, wellness, recent and homogeneous equipment |
| Family residence | Keeping adults and children busy in the same time slot | Adult fitness plus a playground or play structure |
Where a play area is part of the package, remember that children’s equipment follows its own standards: EN 1176-1 for the equipment and EN 1177 for the impact-absorbing surfacing. EN 16630 applies to adult outdoor fitness, never to a children’s play structure.
Constraints specific to the tourist rental estate
- Unsupervised access: posted instructions, locked weights, no sharp edges. The equipment has to be safe for a user meeting the machine for the first time.
- Flooring: it governs safety as much as the noise transmitted to neighbouring units. It is chosen with the package, never afterwards.
- Corrosion: by the sea, 316L stainless steel withstands the saline atmosphere where painted steel pits in the first season.
- Winter lay-up: a documented return to service at the start of the season – checking anchors, cables and fixings – costs less than early replacement.
- Insurance and liability: traceability of periodic inspections is the first document requested after an incident. It is kept in a register, residence by residence.
Documented projects in tourist accommodation
The projects below are real deliveries, invoiced and documented item by item. They cover the two constraints specific to the tourist estate: the aesthetic requirement of a space seen by a non-specialist clientele, and the durability of outdoor structures exposed to salt, sun and frost.
| Property | Supply |
|---|---|
| Le Petit Prince, Saint-Tropez, France | 35 impact-absorbing tiles in a dark oak finish for the hotel fitness space |
| Resorts in Fuerteventura and the Aegean | Stainless functional rig, outdoor structures in a saline atmosphere |
| Uniejow thermal baths, Poland, and an installation in Dubai | Stainless functional rig, exposure to heat and steam |
| Rhodes and Crete, Poland, Singapore, Arizona | iGreenMill non-motorised outdoor treadmill, a range installed in campsites, hotels and senior residences |
| A multi-site fitness network | Four clubs equipped, plus flooring on two further sites, including 40 Training tiles of 25 mm |
That last case is the most direct illustration of the way of working described above: a homogeneous package rolled out across several properties, with common references and a pooled stock of parts. It is exactly the logic of the framework agreement applied to an estate of residences. References matching a specific sector are supplied on request, with the agreement of the properties concerned.
Frequently asked questions
On what terms can the discount reach 30 %?
The discount applies to selected ranges, within a framework agreement covering several properties of the same group or network. The exact rate depends on the ranges chosen and on the scope committed; it is fixed in the quotation, before any order. A single residence is handled through a standard quotation.
Is a dedicated room needed, or is an outdoor space enough?
An outdoor space is enough where the operation is seasonal and the climate allows it. As soon as the residence opens outside the season, a compact indoor room becomes necessary for the equipment to remain an argument all year round.
Which equipment stands up to a seafront location?
In a saline atmosphere, 316L stainless steel is the reference for outdoor structures. Painted galvanised steel is fine inland; exposed to spray, it requires regular treatment of corrosion points. The method for choosing a grade is set out on the page which stainless steel grade to choose.
Can the residences be equipped one after another?
Yes, that is how the framework agreement normally works: the standard package is approved once, then rolled out residence by residence according to the operating calendar, without revisiting the product decision at each site.
