Description
The TRAINER D19 helm wheel is a pylon-mounted outdoor shoulder mobility station measuring 45.5 x 80 x 170 cm and weighing 35 kg, with a recommended safety zone of 346 x 380 cm. It is part of the OutdoorFit range and mounts on a pylon or load-bearing wall, with the fixing accessory sold separately. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 and tested by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,124.40 EUR excluding VAT.
Rotation, not resistance
The helm wheel does something no strength station on a fitness trail does: it takes the shoulder through a full circular path under the user’s own control. Turning the wheel in either direction mobilises the shoulder girdle while lengthening the pectorals and loading the forearms and arms lightly. The training effect is joint range and shoulder health rather than muscle mass, which is precisely the deficit in the population that municipal fitness areas are trying to reach. It is also the station a user with restricted mobility can use standing, without transferring, gripping hard or bearing weight.
- Mobilises and stretches the shoulder girdle and pectorals
- Light loading of the arms and forearms
- Improves flexibility and upper-limb joint mobility
- Difficulty rated easy, minimum user height 140 cm, maximum user weight 150 kg
- Bidirectional rotation, no settings to adjust
Pylon-mounted: what that means for the order
OutdoorFit references are designed to be carried on a shared post rather than on their own foundation, which is the reason for the D prefix. One pylon can take apparatus on opposing faces, so a compact area reaches a high station count on a small footprint and at a lower cost per station than freestanding equipment. The consequence for the order is that the pylon, or a suitable load-bearing wall, must be specified separately: this listing covers the apparatus alone. Any schedule of OutdoorFit references needs a matching schedule of posts.
Siting
Keep the 346 x 380 cm zone clear of paths, planting and neighbouring apparatus, and check for overlap where two units share a post. Because the user stands still throughout, the free height of fall is minimal and surfacing requirements are among the lightest in the range. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006).

Frequently asked questions
Is the pylon included?
No. The D19 is an OutdoorFit apparatus supplied for mounting on a TRAINER pylon or a load-bearing wall, and the fixing accessory is ordered separately. We check the post count against the apparatus schedule before issuing a quotation, because this is where outdoor fitness tenders most often go wrong.
Can it be used from a wheelchair?
The D19 is a standing station and is not part of the wheelchair-accessible range. Where an area must serve wheelchair users, the accessible references carry their own designation and set the wheel or handle at a height reachable from a seated position with clear approach space beneath.
Does the mechanism need lubrication?
The rotating assembly runs on sealed bearings and needs no routine lubrication. Annual inspection should confirm free rotation, absence of play at the hub and the condition of the fixings and the paint film.
Light In Fitness supplies and installs outdoor fitness equipment for councils, care operators, campsites and property developers across France and internationally, with layout studies and foundation details prepared before quotation.
