Description
The TRAINER D18 twin arm wheels are a pylon-mounted outdoor shoulder and arm station measuring 57 x 100 x 140-150 cm and weighing 35 kg, with a recommended safety zone of 400 x 357 cm. Part of the OutdoorFit range, it fixes to a pylon or load-bearing wall with the accessory sold separately. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 and tested by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,110 EUR excluding VAT.
Two wheels, two arms, independent movement
The D18 carries a pair of wheels set side by side so each arm drives its own path. That is the practical difference from a single-wheel station: the two limbs work independently, which exposes and then corrects the asymmetry that almost every adult carries in shoulder range. Turning both wheels forward, both backward, or one of each recruits the shoulder girdle and the arms through a continuous circular path, building joint mobility and light muscular endurance rather than strength.
- Strengthens the shoulder girdle and the arms
- Improves suppleness and upper-limb joint mobility
- Independent left and right movement corrects asymmetry
- Difficulty rated easy, standing position, no technique required
- Minimum user height 140 cm, maximum user weight 150 kg
Why mobility stations belong on a public plan
Fitness areas are usually specified around strength and cardio, and then used mainly by people who need neither. Shoulder mobility is the deficit that shows up first in an ageing population and the one that responds fastest to a few minutes of daily movement. A station like the D18 requires no strength to start, no getting down to ground level and no supervision, which is why it records high usage on sites next to walking routes, residences and care facilities. Placed at the beginning of a circuit it also works as a warm-up position.
Mounting and layout
This reference is supplied as the apparatus alone; a TRAINER pylon or a verified load-bearing wall is required and quoted separately. Handle height varies between 140 and 150 cm depending on mounting position, which should be set to suit the intended user profile. Keep the 400 x 357 cm zone clear and check overlaps where two apparatus share a post. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006).

Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the helm wheel station?
The helm wheel is a single large wheel turned with both hands together, emphasising a wide combined range. The D18 has two smaller wheels driven independently, one per arm, so each shoulder works through its own path. Sites that want the fullest mobility offer install both; where only one is possible, the twin wheels suit rehabilitation and older-user briefs better.
Does the mounting height need to be decided before ordering?
Yes. The 140 to 150 cm range is set at installation and cannot be changed afterwards without re-drilling. We confirm the intended user profile before fixing, since a height chosen for adults will exclude shorter users.
What does annual inspection cover?
Free and quiet rotation of both wheels, absence of play at the hubs, tightness of the pylon or wall fixings, condition of the handles and integrity of the paint film. The bearings are sealed and need no lubrication.
