Description
Rowing is one of the most complete cardio movements there is — and the Rower BLH-1516 makes it available to people who train from a wheelchair. Users row without leaving their chair, gaining the cardiovascular, muscular and postural benefits that conventional rowers reserve for the able-bodied.

Row without transferring
n
The BLH-1516’s geometry lets a wheelchair roll into the rowing position directly: no seat transfer, no assistance required. Adjustable resistance covers everyone from a first-time user in rehabilitation to an experienced athlete, and the guided, fluid stroke keeps joints protected throughout.
n
- n
- Full rowing pattern engaging arms, shoulders, back and trunk
- Adjustable resistance for beginners through to intensive training
- Non-slip handles and a stable resistance system for confident use
- Weather-resistant galvanised steel structure for outdoor or indoor installation
- Smooth guided movement reducing injury risk during unsupervised public use

Cardio endurance: low resistance, 10–15 minutes of continuous rowing (3 sessions of 10 minutes builds lung capacity and stamina). Strength: raise the resistance and row slowly under control, 3 x 12 repetitions for arms and shoulders. Joint mobility: light resistance, gentle strokes of 5–10 minutes, repeatable two or three times daily in rehabilitation settings. Posture and trunk stability improve as the back muscles strengthen — a meaningful daily-life benefit for wheelchair users.

Frequently asked questions
n
How is this different from a standard gym rower?
n
A standard rower requires transferring onto a low sliding seat — impossible or risky for many users. The BLH-1516 removes that barrier: the wheelchair is the seat.
n
Is it appropriate for rehabilitation programmes?
n
Yes — physiotherapy and cardiac rehabilitation programmes use light-resistance rowing to rebuild endurance and shoulder mobility progressively.
n
Can able-bodied users train on it too?
n
Yes. Like the whole BLH range, it is designed for shared use, which is what makes a genuinely inclusive fitness area rather than a segregated one.
