Description

The Lexco LPS-120 is a prone leg curl with a push button swivel over seven steps and an ankle restraint adjustable over eleven. Eleven ankle settings is an unusual figure for this station, and it is the reason the machine suits short and tall users equally.

Lying face down changes the exercise. The hip is extended rather than flexed, which shortens the hamstrings at the hip and biases the work towards the knee joint, and the torso is supported so the lumbar spine takes nothing. What the position also does is expose any mismatch between leg length and pad position, because the user cannot shuffle on the seat to compensate. The seven step swivel sets the pad carrier and the eleven step ankle fixing fine tunes the contact point above the heel.

The pad is ergonomically curved urethane memory foam, chosen so the pressure across the shin spreads rather than concentrating on the achilles. A double sided ABS stack cover closes the mechanism. At 1368 mm tall the machine is low, which makes it easy to place under services, and it weighs 242.5 kg.

Prone or seated leg curl in the equipment plan

Clubs that carry both find members use them differently: the seated version for volume, the prone version when a coach wants the hip extended. If only one station fits, the choice depends on the membership. Sports teams and performance oriented rooms tend to want the prone curl; general fitness sites more often specify the seated version.

The low profile helps in basements and converted units where ceiling height is limited. In plan allow clear space at the head end for the user to climb on, plus the stack loading flank. A siting plan is issued with the quotation once we have your room drawing. We deliver to France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, quote export per project, and dispatch within five to ten working days from stock.

Frequently asked questions

Why eleven positions on the ankle restraint?

Because the pad has to sit just above the heel regardless of leg length, and on a prone machine the user cannot move along the bed to correct a poor setting. Fine steps make that possible.

Does lying face down suit every member?

Not everyone finds the position comfortable, particularly members with neck complaints. Offer the seated leg curl as the alternative where a club carries both.

What maintenance does the station need?

Periodic checks on the cable, pulleys and guide rods, cleaning of the upholstery with a non solvent product, and inspection of the adjustment pins. Wear parts remain available after the sale.
