Description
FORTUNA arranges eight isosceles triangular nets around a central square of galvanised steel cable, tensioned between posts 3.0 m apart. The star geometry gives eight separate climbing surfaces meeting at one rigid centre.
A fixed centre in a moving structure
Rope structures move, and that movement is most of the play value. FORTUNA adds a fixed reference in the middle: the steel cable square does not deform under load, so children always have one predictable point in an otherwise responsive assembly. They use it as a base to launch from and as the goal of the climb, which produces a very different pattern of use from an all-rope net of the same size.
- Eight isosceles triangular nets
- Central square in galvanised steel cable
- Articulated stainless steel, aluminium and plastic connections
- Two posts on reinforced concrete footings

A two-post module with volume
Most of the play value in a rope trail comes from four-post modules with large square safety areas. FORTUNA is the exception: it delivers a genuinely three-dimensional structure on a two-post foundation and the standard 5.3 x 8.3 m strip, which makes it the efficient choice where surfacing budget is tight.
Maintenance
The junctions between the triangular nets and the central cable square carry the highest loads and are the first inspection item, together with rope tension and sheath wear, under the regime required by EN 1176.
Frequently asked questions
Is the central square climbable?
Children stand and sit on it, and the module is certified with that use accounted for in the free height of fall.
How does it compare with a spider web net?
BELLONA is a single flat web. FORTUNA is a set of eight faces around a rigid centre, so it is climbed from more directions and holds a larger group.
What does the XL version change?
FORTUNA XL uses the same eight nets over a 4.24 m span, with a safety area of 5.3 x 9.6 m.
