A roll covers a sports court with a minimum number of joints, which limits infiltration points and gives a uniform appearance across the whole playing area. That is the argument for rolls over tiles wherever surface continuity matters more than modularity: gyms, cardio zones, courts and circulation areas where a visible grid would be a defect rather than a feature.

Roll or tile
The trade-off is straightforward. A roll gives continuity, fewer joints and a faster installation on a large open area. A tile can be replaced one unit at a time when a localised area is damaged, which matters on heavily used public sites where the damage is rarely uniform. For a court that will be laid once and played on for years, the roll usually wins; for a site subject to vandalism or vehicle access, the tile does.
Both formats here are supplied as a complete court, sized and delivered as a single set, and are suitable indoors and outdoors. Installation is on a flat, clean, drained base; a roll reproduces any defect underneath it, so base preparation is part of the specification rather than an optional extra.
How long does a roll take to install?
A complete court is normally laid in a day on a prepared base, which is what makes rolls attractive where the facility cannot be closed for long.
