TRAINER SW14 Climbing Rope Support - Outdoor Street Workout

A frame built to carry a rope, not a rope hung on a frame

Rope climbing is the most demanding exercise a public fitness area can offer, and the loads it puts into a structure are unlike anything else in the range. A climber generates sharp dynamic peaks with every hand-over-hand pull, and those peaks arrive at the top of a cantilevered arm rather than at ground level. The SW14 is a dedicated support sized for that: a 60 kg frame on its own ground anchors, with the attachment point engineered as the primary load path rather than as an accessory bracket added to a pull-up structure.

Modularity and phased installation

The SW14 uses the standard connection points of the TRAINER street workout system, so it can stand alone or form one bay of a larger rig alongside pull-up bars, parallel bars, wall bars and traverse elements. For a council working across several budget years this matters: a rig can be extended in later phases without dismantling or re-certifying what is already installed, provided every module comes from the same certified system. Mixing manufacturers within one assembly invalidates the EN 16630 certification of the structure as installed.

Surfacing is the deciding cost

At 205 cm with a climbing exercise, the free height of fall is determined by how high a user can get, not by the height of the frame. That drives the surfacing specification across the full 510 x 580 cm zone, and on rope stations the surfacing frequently costs as much as the apparatus. It should be priced with the equipment from the outset. Standard finishes are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006).

Is the rope included?

The reference covers the support structure. Ropes are a consumable on an open-access site, exposed to weather and to deliberate damage, and are quoted separately so that the specification, length, diameter and termination, matches the site and so that replacements can be reordered without reference to the original order.

How often should the rope be checked?

Visually at every routine inspection and in detail at the annual inspection, looking at the termination, the sheath and the attachment hardware. Rope is the shortest-lived component on a street workout area and the one most likely to be found cut. Operators generally hold a spare.

Can it be installed without the rest of the rig?

Yes. The SW14 is self-anchoring and functions as a standalone station. It is more often specified as part of a rig because a rope alone gives a narrow training offer, but there is no structural requirement for adjacent modules.
