Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit training bench is an outdoor abdominal and core station from the reinforced Steel4Fit range, measuring 128.6 x 105.9 x 96.4 cm and weighing 60 kg, with a recommended safety zone of 406 x 429 cm. It is certified to EN 16630:2015 and tested and approved by TUV Rheinland. Light In Fitness supplies it at 942 EUR excluding VAT.
One bench, several exercises
The value of an outdoor training bench lies in how many movements it supports rather than in the one it is named after. Depending on body position and leg placement, the same frame delivers straight crunches for the rectus abdominis, rotated crunches for the obliques, hip flexion loading the iliopsoas, and static holds that recruit the quadriceps. That range is what allows a single reference to serve a beginner working through a short set and a regular user running a timed circuit, and it is why the bench is among the most consistently used items on any municipal plan.
- Works the rectus and oblique abdominals
- Loads the iliopsoas and the quadriceps according to the variant chosen
- Several exercise positions on one frame
- Users from 140 cm, maximum user weight 150 kg
- Steel4Fit livery in red and graphite, RAL 3000 / RAL 7016
What the Steel4Fit specification adds
Steel4Fit is the reinforced TRAINER range, produced with curved elements from seamless structural tube and straight components from structural section, hot processed and then given two powder coat layers for maximum corrosion resistance. The distinctive red and graphite finish identifies it on site. It is specified where public use is intensive and continuous, typically dense urban parks, school and campus grounds and municipal areas open around the clock, rather than quiet trails where the standard ranges are sufficient and cheaper.
Comparing it with the OutdoorStart bench
The two are not the same product with a different coat of paint. The OutdoorStart abdominal bench is a taller, narrower unit at 76 x 115 x 202 cm mounted on a slim pylon, and it is quoted with or without that post. The Steel4Fit bench is a lower, wider structure at 128.6 x 105.9 x 96.4 cm, built to the reinforced specification and sitting within the Steel4Fit modular system. Choose on the basis of the range already installed on the site and the level of use expected, not on price alone, because the two systems cannot be mixed within one certified assembly.

Frequently asked questions
Does it need impact-attenuating surfacing?
At 96.4 cm and with the user seated or lying throughout, the free height of fall is low and surfacing requirements are among the lightest in the range. The determination is still made at design stage against the layout as a whole, since an adjacent high apparatus can govern the surfacing across a shared zone.
How much of the 406 x 429 cm zone can overlap with neighbouring apparatus?
Safety zones may only overlap under the conditions set by the standard, and the assessment depends on the apparatus involved and their fall heights. We resolve this on the site drawing before quoting, because an overlap missed on paper becomes a non-conformity at handover inspection.
Why specify Steel4Fit rather than the standard range?
For service life on heavily used sites. The reinforced construction and two-layer coating are aimed at continuous public use and at locations where vandalism and weather exposure are severe. On a low-traffic residential or campsite installation the standard range gives the same training at a lower cost.
