Description
The Shock leg press and hack squat combines two heavy lower body movements on one frame, with an adjustable back support that switches between them in seconds. A user performs seated leg presses or hack squats from several starting positions, which turns a single machine into the core of a lower body area rather than one exercise in it.
The build specification is unusually explicit for this category. Main frames use rectangular tube of 120 by 120 by 3 mm and 120 by 60 by 3 mm plus an oval 120 by 50 by 2 mm section, in calibrated SAE 1088 cold formed steel. Metal parts pass through a degreasing and phosphating tunnel, then an electrostatic booth where polyester powder paint is applied, and finally an oven where the coating is polymerised at 220 degrees. That is a powder coated steel machine done properly rather than a painted one, and it is what keeps the finish intact in a high traffic strength area.
The contact points follow the same logic. The backrest is 4 cm of high density foam rated at 150, covered in a fire retardant and antibacterial material, on a fully anatomical seat that holds the user in position throughout the movement. The foot platforms are coated in a high hardness polyamide polymer chosen for impact and abrasion resistance, the handles are anti-allergenic non-slip neoprene, the plate support bars are stainless steel and the linear bearings are SKF. Safety locks are fitted, and the machine is declared to EN 957 parts 1, 2 and 4, the standard series that preceded EN ISO 20957.

Professional use and installation
A combined leg press and hack squat is the machine that lets a mid sized strength area offer both movements without giving up the floor for two frames. It suits commercial fitness centres, leisure centres, apartment complex gyms and staffed clubs equally, since the guided path and the safety locks allow unsupervised use while the loading suits serious lifters. Two practical points govern the installation. Plate storage has to be planned within reach, because a plate loaded lower body machine generates constant disc handling and discs left on the floor are the main hazard in that zone. Floor loading also deserves a check: the machine plus plates plus user concentrates significant weight, which matters on a suspended slab. We size the zone, the plate storage and the circulation free of charge from your floor plan.
Frequently asked questions
How quickly does the machine switch between the two exercises?
The back support adjusts to move between the seated leg press and the hack squat, so the change takes seconds and needs no tools.
Is the finish suitable for a humid environment?
The phosphating and polyester powder coating process gives a durable finish for indoor commercial use. For pool halls, spa areas or outdoor installation, stainless steel equipment is the correct specification and we can advise on alternatives.
Which standard applies?
The machine is manufactured to EN 957 parts 1, 2 and 4:2006+A1, the stationary training equipment series that preceded the current EN ISO 20957. For professional and commercial use the relevant classification in the current standard is class S.
