Description
Play configuration 45 is a square-format destination scheme: two rope domes — a MEDOOZA and a KOCHAB — joined to an extensive climbing zone equipped with rubber membranes, two double-slide modules and net passages. Over 22.0 x 20.8 m it delivers continuous multi-level play, from balance work at ground level to lookout points at the top of the domes.
Two domes, one connected volume
The linking passage between MEDOOZA and KOCHAB is what turns two large items into a single play landscape. Children can cross between the domes at height, drop into the climbing zone, take one of the double slides down and re-enter without ever using the same route twice. That variety is why the configuration is specified for flagship municipal parks and large school campuses rather than as a general-purpose unit.
Components
- MEDOOZA rope dome.
- KOCHAB rope dome.
- Two double-slide modules.
- Linking passage between the two domes.
- Extensive climbing zone with rubber matting and net passages.
What it develops
The scheme is built around progression: balance and traversing at low level, sustained climbing in the domes, and observation points at the top that give children a reason to complete a route. Social play is designed in through the central lookout areas, where groups gather rather than passing through. Physical fitness, coordination and negotiation between users all get exercised in the same visit.
Compliance and surfacing
The configuration is certified to PN-EN 1176-1:2017-12, with a certificate of conformity issued by an independent certification body. That standard governs the equipment. The impact-attenuating surface is a separate specification, tested and rated under EN 1177, and must achieve a critical fall height of at least 3.0 m across a safety area of 26.1 x 25.2 m — some 650 m2, which should be priced as a major element of the scheme from the outset.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the overall height 6.4 m when the free height of fall is 3.0 m?
Overall height is the top of the structure. Free height of fall is the greatest height from which a user can fall onto the surface below, which the rope geometry limits to 3.0 m. Surfacing is sized on the second figure, not the first.
Can the configuration be delivered in phases?
Yes, subject to design. Each dome can be commissioned separately provided its own safety area is surfaced and signed, with the linking passage added when the second phase lands. The phasing has to be agreed before the foundations are set out.
Is the rubber matting part of the fall protection?
The matting within the climbing zone is a play surface forming part of the equipment. It does not replace the impact-attenuating surfacing required under EN 1177 around and beneath the structure.
