Description
Play configuration 42 combines a MAYE climbing tower with a SPICA rope dome fitted with a wide slide, linked by a MAYE–SPICA transition walkway. Three named components, one 15.8 x 11.8 m plot, and a route that moves children from vertical climbing to all-round dome climbing and out down the slide.
MAYE, SPICA and the wide slide
The MAYE tower is the vertical element: a defined climb with a clear top. The SPICA dome is open on every side and can be climbed from any direction. The wide slide on the dome takes several children abreast, which turns the descent into a shared event rather than a queue — and gives the whole configuration a natural exit point.

Climbing, balance and sliding in one route
The three play values are sequenced rather than offered side by side. Children climb the tower, balance across the walkway, cross the dome and slide out — then walk round and start again. A loop like this produces long, repeated use, which is what a school or a campsite is actually buying.
Materials and installation
Hot-dip galvanised steel with a powder-coat finish. Foundations at 1.0 m depth. Site plant access is required for installation, so check that an excavator and a lifting vehicle can reach the plot before the position is fixed.
Surfacing
The free height of fall is 2.9 m. The impact area requires an impact-attenuating surface certified to EN 1177 for a critical fall height of at least 2.9 m across the 19.5 x 15.9 m safety area. The equipment itself conforms to PN EN 1176-1:2017-12 with a certificate of conformity from an independent certification body; the surfacing is a separate specification governed by EN 1177.

Frequently asked questions
Can the SPICA dome be ordered separately from the MAYE tower?
Yes, both are separately certified components with their own safety areas. Ordered separately they lose the walkway and the sequenced route, which is the reason the pair is offered as a configuration.
How much clear ground does the configuration need?
About 310 m² for the safety area, plus circulation and maintenance access outside it. Fences, planting and lighting columns must fall outside that rectangle.
Is a wide slide better than a tube slide here?
For supervision, yes — users stay visible throughout the descent. It also suits the dome, where several children reach the top at the same time from different directions.
Send us the plot dimensions, access details and your surfacing intentions, and we will return a costed proposal with a scaled siting drawing within 24 business hours.
