Description
This outdoor station combines a seated press and a lat pull down in one accessible unit designed for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. Putting a pushing and a pulling movement on the same frame is what makes the station work as a complete upper body circuit on its own, which matters on sites where only one accessible unit can be installed.
The seated press is configured so that a wheelchair user can perform upper body strength work safely, using a progressive resistance system. It develops the chest through the pushing movement, the anterior and medial deltoids, and the triceps through controlled extension. The ergonomic design positions the body correctly, which reduces injury risk and makes each repetition count.
The lat pull down completes it by targeting the back, biceps and forearms. It works the latissimus dorsi and the rhomboids, strengthens the biceps and forearms, and contributes to posture and joint mobility. For wheelchair users in particular, pulling work counterbalances the pushing pattern that daily propulsion already imposes, which is an argument for specifying both movements rather than a press alone.

Installing an inclusive station in a public space
The safety zone of 4.82 x 3.88 m, just under 17 m2, is the figure to work from when reserving ground, not the 1.82 x 0.88 m equipment footprint. For a wheelchair accessible station the surface within that zone also has to be firm and level up to the machine, otherwise the accessibility of the equipment is theoretical. A bound surface or a compacted, well drained base is normally specified.
Typical installations are municipal parks and gardens, green spaces attached to public buildings, sports grounds, rehabilitation centres and residential schemes. Compliance with EN 16630:2015 covers the equipment; the approach route and signage remain the responsibility of the site design. Delivery covers France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, and export is quoted per project.
