Description
This Work-fit balance beam offers two beam levels on one station, in laminated Scandinavian pine treated to class IV and finished with two coats of Lasur paint. Two heights let a user progress from a low beam, where a step off costs nothing, to a higher one that demands real control.
Balance work is the part of an outdoor trail that suits the widest public, from children to older adults, and it is the reason municipalities place a beam near the start of a circuit rather than deep into it. The two level arrangement means one station covers both ends of that public without doubling the footprint.
Metal parts are AISI 304 stainless steel with quality stainless steel fixings. The timber is treated in autoclave to class IV for permanent outdoor exposure, and the two coat Lasur finish protects the surface while letting the grain and the natural knots remain visible. Spare parts are available for ten years.

Building a progressive trail
A well designed fitness trail progresses: mobility and balance first, then pulling and pushing strength, then jumping. A two level beam serves the first phase and is often the station that keeps casual walkers on the circuit, because it requires no strength and gives an immediate result.
The impact area is provided in accordance with EN 1176-1:2017 and depends on the installed beam heights. Grass, bark or a bonded surface can all be used provided the surfacing meets the requirement for the fall height concerned. The layout, the spacing between stations and the surfacing recommendation are issued in the implantation study with the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Is the beam suitable for older users?
The lower beam is the one normally used for balance rehabilitation and for older adults, while the upper beam suits more confident users. Both are on the same station.
Does the Lasur finish need maintenance?
It is renewed periodically as part of routine maintenance. It is a penetrating finish, so no stripping is required before recoating.
What are the beam heights?
The heights as installed are confirmed in the implantation study, since they determine the impact area to be provided under EN 1176-1:2017.
